This is in Downpatrick...a bit depressed. Not a great place - the luster has gone from this once-great hotel. The staff was pleasant. The room was adequate. I would not recommend it as a place to stay unless you have to go to Downpatrick... the pics on the website are true - but very "optimistic"... parking is a challenge.

Hi gsoco, I must admit I was a bit disappointed by your review and it made me look back at those of our other guests who have stayed this year in case we are missing something. They were all very positive. I read yours again. "The staff was pleasant", good, and "the room was adequate", I suppose this depends on...

Ok, I have every sympathy for the bar staff - a whole pile of people come tumbling through the door, with no reservations, some hoping to eat, others merely wanting a drink, no-one in charge or having organised the crowd in advance. However, we were all there as individuals who just happened to leave an event at the same time...

Hi Pat B, Thank you for taking the time to post this review. Obviously we wish customers would raise concerns directly with us before going public, but we do realise that it is a customers perogative to go straight to Tripadvisor and that some satisfaction can be gained from so doing. Firstly, we are genuinely sorry that you were left...

Stayed for one night, nice enough room with polished wooden floor. Plumbing a but iffy, cold water tap revolved and bath tap jammed, but you can get around it. Nice bar area and the food was very good with friendly and efficient staff.

We stayed here for a wedding nearby for 1 night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was excellent - very spacious and clean. We couldn't get a taxi to the wedding venue so one of the staff members brought us out which we thought was a very nice gesture.

My partner and I stayed here for the sunflower races. I rang several weeks in advance to ensure we would get a quiet room as he was racing the next day. I was assured the room would be quiet. Dear Napt78, I'm really sorry that you were disappointed with your time with us and I can only apologise. I can assure though of a few things. We did put you in what we consider to ba a quiet room I'm sure that the voices you heard were not coming from the bar. We have a "communal room" on the...

Hi TjibsnCat, I'm delighted you enjoyed your meal and look forward to your return. Sorry about the delay on the burger, but as you've pointed out, we do cook from fresh. Maybe though it's something that our waiting staff should point out. I'll recommend this. Thanks again, Chris

The Denvir is a great place in downtown Downpatrick, It is conveniently located and close to city centre. The staff were excellent, very helpful. Stayed here for one night during a tour of the area. Late arrival was no issue, as the reception is also a local pub.
