After watching the bbc's amazing series 'the fall', my wife had been dying to stay at 'the Merchant' hotel in belfast. Last week we took plunge. We often go away for long week ends to various locations and within belfast we have stayed in a few hotels. The merchant was by far the most expensive and professional. The rooms are...

Stunning. Impressive ambience, perfect for a glass of champagne and olives with and oak fire, live bassist/pianist, HUGE chandelier, very expensive and beautiful architecture. Certainly come here for 1/2 hours as a break into your day :-)

My son and I had Festive afternoon tea in the Veuve - Cliquot Lounge on December 27th. It was a lovely experience and one which I shall definitely repeat. The surroundings are beautiful and Christmas 🎄 decor added that special touch. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty, and it is possible to substitute sandwich fillings if...

This was my second visit to the Merchant for afternoon tea and what an enjoyable experience. From the atmosphere to the music and how attentive the staff are. I was very impressed as the gluten free afternoon tea option looks exactly the same as the regular. As a coeliac I am used to be being offered what only can be...

Myself and my wife have stayed in this hotel three or four times over the years. It used to be an excellent hotel. We booked the day before arriving and asked for a free upgrade as the spa was closed the previous visit without notice so they said they they would look after us next visit. The girl on the...

Expensive but well worth the money for the atmosphere and the quality you will find lurking in every corner. They think of everything and you should not be disappointed whatever you decide to pop in for.

The hotel is a wonderful maze of hallways and passages. The rooms are all different and beautiful. Each is a work of art. I felt like a pirate king in ours. The hotel is rich in history and ornamentation. The dining area is like eating in a cathedral. And the food is great. Don't miss this. Located in the heart...

The spa is out of this world beautiful and immaculately clean! We also had afternoon tea as part of our package and the girls in the spa went out of their...
