My wife and I booked into the Merchant Hotel for an overnight stay which included and evening meal as part of the package. The whole experience was truly lovely from the moment we arrived and left our car to be valet parked, through check-in and then to our room which was in the Victorian part of the hotel. The room was...

Having just returned from our first stay in the merchant, all I can say is please avoid. We have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and this was on our to do list. Check in was smooth and faultless. The concierge took our car and we were taken to our room by a lovely man named...

Staff were very helpful at checkin, room service, housekeeping ( I couldn't figure out how to turn the fire off in the room!) Room service was excellent. A wonderful stay in the Goliath Suite. The bar area is lovely & unfortunately I didn't have time to have breakfast but look forward to returning. Only downside is having to park a...

After a long business meeting we decided to retire to The Merchant to wind down and resume in the morning. The hotel is excellent! The room was spacious, bed was very comfortable and staff couldn't have been more attentive or helpful. It is obvious that the staff are trained to a high standard.

Was lovely, we had a beautiful 3 course meal with tea after. My husband and I received a voucher for our wedding, we did end up adding to bill because we had some extra items etc. Was a lovely dinner and a beautiful hotel. Cocktails where a bit too pricy for my liking which is why it's not getting 5...

Party of four to celebrate two birthdays. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The car valet service was really convenient. Our Art Deco rooms were great and I had the deluxe one which was enormous. We had lunch which was very good. We also had dinner which was fine dining. Portions were not large but the food was good....

Took my mum for afternoon tea as a surprise! This was such a lovely treat, she really enjoyed it and so did I! The atmosphere in the great room is really special and the service cannot be faulted! Of course for a hotel of this standard it's what you would expect. We got loads to eat while we were there...

We stayed for a night in an Art Deco room in December as a pre-Christmas treat as we do every year. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a large walkin shower and a rolltop bath. We used the rooftop hot tub which was great on a calm, dry December evening. However the...

I took my friend along for our fabulous fashion tea as her treat for helping me with some work. We arrived early and had a drink whilst we waited for the previous fashion tea to finish and it was very pleasant sitting chatting in the bar. After we'd finished, we proceeded to our table and whilst squeezed in a bit,...
