Booked this hotel with the wider family circle for a 40th anniversary weekend. Am so so disappointed. No housekeeping service the whole time we were there. Had to chase fresh towels etc. very understaffed- went to the bistro for lunch on arrival and while food was good service was poor- just one poor staff member for the whole place run ragged. Same in bar at nighttime. Breakfast was average- food was usually on the cooler side and poorly replenished and cold by time you got it. Apparently short staffed across the board. A reduction in price to reflect that would have been appreciated. Am assuming got the 4 star grading years ago and it’s never been reviewed….
I've been a few times this time for my parents wedding and I wanted to make a review about two lovely staff members (after a few drinks) I believe their names were Katie and Kirsty very lovely and accommodating bar staff
Was attending a wedding this place is the the worst I’ve experience the staff are rude and miserable the management don’t care about the guest . One of our party was a coeliac and they served her the wrong dinner !!! Drinks a different price every time and not enough glasses for all gust the place needs a massive revamp over price for the dated rooms and decor
Average hotel. The main areas of the hotel are nice however, the room I stayed in was large but dated. It was comfortable but lights were broken, some switches didn't work etc. The staff were nice though and the dinner is the restaurant was lovely. Debatable if I would stay here again but good enough for one night.
Attended a wedding here and I can honestly say we have never been treated so rudely .No access to rooms until 4pm, minimal staff and one mature women who claimed to be the manager ( no uniform or name badge) was extremely rude and even threatening. One member of staff on the bar for a wedding of 90 people.Drinks served in bottles, no glasses or ice for comes. Staff served soup 2 bowls at a time. No use of trays. Waiting staff long hair to below waist not tied back while serving food Special diet served from normal child's menu. Only on checking twice was it confirmed that the child had been served the wrong meal Returned food was scraped onto 1 plate at the table we were eating at. Avoid this hotel it is a nightmare
Went to a wedding at this hotel, the worsed hotel l have ever been in,wedding was in hotel at 12,we couldn’t get into our rooms,we were told we had to wait till 4,so 4 hours later, disgusting we set all day, reception staff were horrible, when asking about breakfast, usually every hotel breakfast is between 8 til 10.30,we had to book a time for breakfast and if we were not on time we didn’t get any, will never be in his horrible hotel again
I must recommend the La Mon hotel having celebrated our 50 Th anniversary there recently. The management and staff could not have more for us. The food was of very good quality with a great selection of wine. thank you La Mon.
Arrived for a two night stay with my wife having booked a double room and sent a room with two double beds squeezed in and no natural light as the window had a huge hedge up against it, Went to reception to see if we could change rooms to be told all rooms at that price, £130 per night, were sold out but we could have a superior room for a supplement of £30 per night. We were prepared to accept this but asked to see the other room first. We were told we could not see it until we paid. I asked why and was told that was the rule. Asked to speak to a manager and another young lady eventually arrived. I asked if she was the duty manager to be told she was a manager. I again asked which manager and she repeated a manager. After some time she reluctantly told me she was the reservations manager. I explained the issue and she repeated what I had been told by reception. I asked why I could not see the room and was told it was because of Covid. I said that my wife and I would go with her to the room and not enter but look from the door to be told that would not be allowed and I must pay for the upgrade first. I asked for her name, to make a complaint, and she refused stating that her management had told her she did not need to give her name and ‘she did not want to be on the internet’. She followed up by telling us if we did not like the policy we could have a refund. We took the refund and booked another hotel, far better in fact, cheaper and with staff who had customer service skills. Not recommended. Will never return.…
The room was fine, the bed very comfortable but the pleasure of my stay significantly diminished by the attitude of the staff possibly caused by their being too few in number to fulfill their duties. Overall the impression given was that the Hotel was doing me a favour allowing me to stay at the Hotel. This was particularly the case when at our dinner at the end of a 3 day international event they allowed a disco to play in the adjoining room. Its location is far from ideal also.
Nice hotel in the Castlereagh Hills. Nice, large, comfortable rooms with all facilities, and pleasant and helpful housekeeping staff. On a full board package, the fare very reasonable for the price. Seems a bit under-staffed, lacking porterage. Luckily, a visiting South African rugby team helped carry our gear to the function rooms for our event. The function rooms were fine, if a little cool thanks to the air conditioning. Our event culminated in a formal dinner, the food being of decent standard. Unfortunately, a wedding in the next door function room clashed, and was very noisy, with loud music, making it very hard for our speakers to be heard, despite microphones. Perhaps not the hotel's fault, but perhaps a more distant function room would have been better. Unless at a function there is not a huge lot locally. Even a walk in the environs of the hotel is not without peril, the roads narrow without pavements or a verge, and traffic at speed in both directions. Otherwise, a comfortable enough weekend.…
