despite advertising a full restaurant and free wifi service for guests, neither were available. Management used the excuse "circumstances beyond our control" to justify the dishonest advertising of their property. Housekeeping consisted of throwing the duvet over the bed, and emptying the rubbish bin. Never again. This is not a 4 star hotel.
The only reason this gets a two and not a one is the fact the room was lovely, spacious, clean and the beds extremely comfy. Other than that it was a disgrace. Was at a wedding and everyone had the same issue, the staff in every part of the hotel were rude, unwelcoming and very unwilling to help anyone without being met with a disgruntled and sharp answer. They had twice messed up my parents reservations and then when they went to check in told them they had no room after myself and the bride had confirmed it. The hotel manager was the most rude I have ever been treated in any hospitality setting cutting me off twice when trying to explain what happened and basically accusing me of not having made the booking! Eventually they gave them a suite making it seem like it was a kind gesture when really they had no other hotel rooms left as it happened to another couple standing at reception and they received the last double room. I overheard the other lady at reception mention the hotel had overbooked because of a huge bus of tourists when they should of made it a priority of the wedding guests before allowing other bookings. The only good this were a handful of staff, one male who I felt sorry for seemed to be thrown in every single job, and the ladies at reception who were pleasant. I can't get over the rudeness of the manager it was completely out of order and I never received an apology for how I was treated. An absolute disgrace as was my experience in the grand central last year, which is annoying as the hotel rooms are lovely and reasonably priced. Will never be back and warn others to do the same.…
Attended the comedy night here on Friday and it was brilliant. Live in east Belfast and there isn’t much to do, you always have to go to city centre. Good to see Stormont providing new entertainment. The room was beautifully decorated, well done to the organisers and the staff were very attentive at the bar. Hope plenty of funds were raised and looking forward to the Xmas shows I see coming up.
Myself and husband had a recent overnight stay, on arriving at the hotel we were greeted at reception by Rachel and Bernie who were lovely and very helpful with any queries I had. We got an upgrade which was a nice surprise. Our room was beautiful, with a nice view. Breakfast was delicious again staff were very attentive. We attended the comedy night in the hotel which was a great laugh. Brilliant stay overall, will be back.
Came for afternoon tea for a birthday, charged £26 per person for rock hard sandwiches, a shot of vegetable soup & cold tea. Extremely disappointed by the tray bakes we got served as only a small amount of them from the advertised menu were actually given to us and the rest were missing. Extremely stale food and small portions as we were expecting a little more for two people. Pasty was falling apart and crumbling while the table we had our tea on was knee height in the middle of the hotels reception area.
Could not recommend more highly. Choice & quality of starters was jaw dropping. Great mains, veg cooked to perfection & roast potatoes that actually taste like roast potatoes- instead of boiled & deep fried ones. Desserts were drool worthy. But wasn’t just the food - lovely airy room with tables well spaced out & despite being busy, the noise levels stayed low because of the acoustics. ALL of the staff were sooooo nice & service was excellent. We’d brought an elderly aunt for a family meal & was easy for her to get around & find plain food options too. She really enjoyed it, which meant a lot to me. I’ll definitely be bringing her there again next time I’m in Belfast!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Stormont Hotel. Our suite was immaculate, very spacious and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely return with our family.
After booking in for my niece's wedding my husband emailed the hotel with our issues...as yet not even the decency to reply...phoned ahead two days prior and day if wedding to see if it was possible to get an early check in as wedding was at two o'clock...arrived just after 12...waited.. waited.. waited..eventually after 1.15 I was directed to the disabled toilet to change into my wedding attire and put make up on..to say the toilet was dirty was an understatement!..the wedding took place and we did get checked into our room...after SEVEN o clock!! The following morning the tables in dining room were not cleared and when asked for seating seemed like a bother to waiter to have to clear the table...asked for coffee cup for coffee machine to be told there weren't any they were in the dishwasher!!. disgraceful on every level and for not even responding to my husband's email.. says everything As I'm sure you will see if you read further reviews the hotel will reply via Tripadvisor to positive comments..but those who have an unpleasant experience simply do not matter!!!! The booking was made by my son and daughter as an anniversary present to us both..sooo disappointed!…
First time here for the Sunday buffet and unfortunately the last! Staff were a massive let down, appalling to be honest! We were not shown to a table, we were pointed to one and told its number, no offer of drinks, no information on the carvery set up. We did finally wave down a young guy, who said he would send someone over to take our drinks order (fathers day special was supposed to include a free pint but no mention of this at all). The food was nice, some things werent replenished and it could be argued that this was because we were the last sitting but if this is the case, why offer it as a booking option? Food was being cleared as we were starting our main course so no option for seconds. Dessert was vast and looked like, at one stage, had been presented very well. Getting a second drink was very difficult, the young guy that had helped us at the beginning tried to get an older server to take our order but from the gestures, she told him no! Worth a mention that this young guy was a credit to the hotel and seemed to be doing much of the running about in the dining area while the older ones were chatting amongst themselves. Real let down by staff. NB I emailed the hotel with my review before I posted this to give a chance to explain any possible mitigating circumstances but I've received no acknowledgement.…
We arrived for a one night stay just before check in at 3pm around 2:54PM. We were greeted by a nice lady on reception that told us to come back after 3PM, around 30 minutes or so as the rooms were not ready. When we came back there was no one at the reception desk and we stood there for a good 10 minutes before a different lady appeared, she took payment and confirmed the booking and we were given our room key. The lift didn't work for us (doors just kept opening and closing) so we opted for the stairs and arrived to our room, a twin room rather than a double. I called reception from the room but no answer. Made my way down to reception and there was a massive queue, after 15 minutes of standing there eventually the room was sorted and we were moved. Not the greatest of starts to our trip. Another downer was we overslept and woke just before 10am, called reception to see if we could still make breakfast as it was part of our package and was met with a "no sorry". Mind you I've worked as a chef in many hotels and we've always had a few guests get a breakfast after cut off point (it's just a matter of checking in with us). In a nutshell... Cons; 1. Check in a bit clunky. 2. No vending machine on any floor. 3. No water in the rooms. 4. No late bar (residents). 5. A lot of young staff that seem flustered. 6. Menu limited and slightly over priced. 7.Check out is 11am but housekeeping decide to knock down the door at 10:20am. 8. TV in room is limited (no netflix or streaming apps). 9. Windows only open slightly and room gets very stuffy in warm weather. Pros; 1. Close to where we needed to go. Would not stay here again unfortunately. Hopefully they can work on some of the smaller details going forward.…
