Good sized, clean, very quiet room that just needs better towels to improve it. Took the Airport Express bus from Belfast International Airport and it's just a 5 min walk from Europa Bus Station to the hotel. Great, convenient location to explore centre and use buses to get further afield (£3.50 all day ticket). Staff at breakfast were very friendly, Reception team not as good. Did online check in before arrival but took a long time to get a key with receptionist retreating to back office several times with no explanation as to what was taking so long. Several great restaurants within easy walking distance.

Firstly, the hotel is in a perfect spot for exploring Belfast. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. Including Wetherspoons, which was handy since we can't really stump up £15 for breakfast. The Crown Liquor Saloon is couple of dozen steps away and the Ulster Hall not much more. Secondly, we found most of the staff to be helpful (within limits - see below) and the food, on the one occasion we ate dinner in the hotel, was very good and served with aplomb. But from there on, the Maldron lets itself down. We stayed a week. It was our first visit to "Norn Iron" and we wanted to see as much as possible. Our strong impression was that the Maldron doesn't cater for people like us, being much more focused on large tour groups staying only one, or maybe two, nights max. Firstly, we were put in a side room, opposite a tall building which was being completely re-built. So, noisy. Given that we were there for seven nights, why were we not given a room at the front, without threat of building noise? We could only assume those are kept for those in-and-out tour guests.... To keep the tour companies sweet? Our room was barely touched by cleaning staff throughout our stay. Clean towels, which we didn't really need, appeared every day. But otherwise, the bed wasn't even straightened, the bathroom didn't see a cloth, dirty cups and glasses were left sitting and our supply of tea and coffee ran out after two days. On Day 3 we requested some more coffee, which appeared in a bag hanging from our door-handle. We were told that "Staff won't go into your room unless you request it" - which made us wonder where the clean towels were coming from : Heaven? We ended up completely re-making the bed ourselves (not easy, with a protective mattress-cover that had slid halfway off..) and washing our own cups. OK, no biggie. But it's kinda depressing, on a special holiday, to return to base to find the bed unmade and the room just as you left it - except for those blessed towels. For seven days on the trot. If it's official policy that long-stayers are offered zero service from room staff, that should be made very clear at the time of booking. We wanted to stay in a hotel, not a hostel. Perhaps the most impressive moment was returning on our penultimate day to find that not only had the room not been touched, but there was a large grimy footprint in the middle of the bathroom floor. It certainly hadn't been there when we left. HOW do you get a muddy footprint on a tiled floor seven levels up, surrounded by carpeted corridors??! [see photo] So all in all, a disappointment. But then, we got the impression long-stay couples like us are just not the hotel’s target market. We felt like an irrelevance and wouldn’t return. There are, after all, other affordable hotels in the city centre..

Absolutely lovely hotel, all staff were very chatty and friendly. The room was clean on arrival, only complaint was the mattress was a bit hard. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice. In a great location for lots of tourist attractions and some nice bars/ restaurants.

First time at this hotel and 2nd time in Belfast. Very comfortable and clean and the self serve breakfasts are varied and plentyful. Ideal location to the city sights and pubs/restaurants. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. We had an early arrival flight and asked if we could leave our bags earlier than check in time. They found us 2 rooms straight away which was great as we could freshen up earlier than planned. Would book again without hesitation.

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are adequate and clean. Beds were a bit dated and slope inwards in both directions. What made my experience miserable was the attitude of the front desk. We arrived early so left the luggage in the cloak room and went out as we were aware and told that rooms would only be available by 3pm. Fair enough. We returned and intimated them to let us know when rooms were ready. Well past 3pm and despite several visits we were asked to wait and told that check in time did not mean that rooms would be available. So why have a check in time? Surprisingly the house keeping staff down my room corridor later, gave me the version that all rooms were ready as check out was 11am. Hope they get their act together. But for this I would rate it as a good stay.

“3PM checkin does not mean the room will be available at 3 pm” words spoken by Sasha at the reception with icy arrogance. It left me feeling absolutely unwelcome. After a long days travel and waiting in their lounge for three hours it felt horrible to be spoken to this way. Location wise this is a pretty good spot. The rooms are small but sufficient for a short stay. Apart from the terrible check in , my stay here was okay.

This hotel was part of a package deal for a Belfast city break and we ended up being really impressed! We arrived before 11am and could leave our baggage with no bother - meaning we could explore without luggage! The city centre location is fantastic! Breakfast was pretty good with good quality hot options. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The little lounge area was nice too. We were able to leave our luggage again before our evening flight. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room wasn't serviced on the Sunday - not sure why but when we asked for more tea and coffee it was sorted immediately. We would definitely stay here and in another Maldron again.

We stayed for 3 nights, we were able to leave our luggage and go off exploring, rooms were comfortable and well equipped, breakfast was very good with lots of choice (would have liked fried eggs though) our room was not serviced on the last day for some reason, my only slight criticism was they didn’t publicise an offer in the restaurant that we would have used we only saw it on a small sign when we were leaving,if only they had made us aware of the offer. Otherwise great place to stay.

Repeated requests to fix the broken safe in our room were ignored over the 3 days of our stay, the toilet roll holder was also broken on our arrival. We asked for a complimentary breakfast for our daughter who was visiting following the poor response to the problem with the safe. This was refused And no other compensation offered. Won’t be staying here again.
