Stayed here during a national lockdown due to work circumstances for 4 nights. Very dated, disgusting and vile. In 5 years of travelling the UK&I on a weekly basis this is the worst hotel i have stayed in. Couldn’t brave a shower after looking at the shower head (pictured) so opted for baths after cleaning it out myself. Breakfast hamper was not worth the £11 charged a day (No picture - consisted of apple, banana, childs box of cornflakes, croissant, orange juice & milk) No warning signs that the HOT tap is hot, surly this is simple health and safety and is standard in most other hotels if there isn’t temperature regulation located below the tap? The 2 single beds put together were clean that’s the main thing right? The nice new updated main entrance is very misleading.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Friendly staff at reception. Social distancing in place. Good car park facilities Comfortable room. Room service was quick & efficient on a proper plate with proper cutlery, ( not like some of the HI I’ve stayed in ) Tasty food and good portions. The lasagne and butterfly chicken burger I would definitely recommend. Well done to the hotel.

Nice hotel nice room Service in bar very bad , never there no excuse had to go to bar and serve yourself To busy talking with staff I ordered my meal Ham egg and chips and bread and butter What came was ham egg and two pieces of most disgusting pieces of bread and nasty cheap Margerine Completely ruined the meal The chips were skin on. Looked disgusting , full of black bits Obviously very cheap ingredients and should not be served in any self respecting hotel , let alone a holiday inn And that’s before we talk about the Apple crumble Too many places hiding behind the Covid excuse Shame because check inn and room excellent

I and my family have stayed here recently and I would not recommend if you want a hassle free, relaxing stay. 2 rooms didn’t have hot water available from the shower but only the bath so I had to stand there waiting for hot water which weren’t available at all which made me so angry! This was also the case one of the other rooms. The tower Rail in one of the other rooms also was broken so there was humid head in the atmosphere like a furnace. This day was hot so my family staying in this particular room had no sleep whatsoever! The hallways are also over heated and so are the public toilets. Some of my family staying in the room with the broken towel rail complained but one of the staff told them that there’s nothing to be done and that she always has to deal with complains and felt sorry for us. The breakfast was ok but service was slow as there was one person serving and limited options served.

Staff nice, sorry-but hotel so outdated and in desperate need of revamp. Felt as if we had walked back to the 70s. Carpets stained and state of roofs indicating a real need for investment. Also, chef really needs to know how to cook a steak rare especially when staff say chef won't listen and it’s not the first time. Apparently Holiday inn express, 5 mins up the road is a better option.
