We were on a road trip around England & Wales. Five hotels, eleven nights. This hotel featured low down our collective ratings. Good choice of beers in the bar, large room, comfortable with reasonable air conditioning. Quiet and undisturbed sleep. Great location for Cardiff Bay and ample parking. Why did it struggle? Service was not very good. Nothing to pinpoint why, but we did not feel especially welcome. Other brand hotels invest in their staff and that rubs off on how they interact with guests. It may be that they were in masks 24/7 whereas other hotels we visited during this trip were in England without masks. The whole experience was impersonal. Not a brand I’d rush back to.
An extremely dated hotel in need of an uplift, staff vey slow at removing g room waste from outside doors , all day in some cases, found it extremely hard to understand receptionist, wouldn’t stay again sorry, one plus point the bar was reasonable but closed far too early
This was our second stay at Future Inn. It's a great hotel, just a short walk from Cardiff Bay. The room standard is good and the staff are very helpful. It is a little tricky to get from the road onto the site, the road system is complex but there is a good parking area once you arrive. But is a quiet spot, undisturbed by the activity in the bay.
No fridge in room. Chair broke when I sat on it. No plug socket next to the bed. Chair and footstool covered in stains. Plug got stuck in the bath and I had to get it out with a spoon. Rooms not made up or cleaned due to Covid - this would have been fine but I was not made aware of this. I was given extra coffee sachets in a bin bag. Carpets ripped and coming apart in the room. Wardrobe too small to fit anything in it. Decor very outdated and it felt generally dirty.
We stayed for 5 nights July 11th 2021 . The room was big , the hotel was clean and nice … bar and restaurant nice (we didn’t have breakfast)… staff helpful all the time and tried to help us when I felt the room was to noisy but this was rectified when we closed the window vent and worked out the air con ! 😂 we wanted a car park which was perfect .. location for bus and train into Cardiff literally a few mins walk and the red dragon centre and Cardiff bay just a few mins walk from hotel with Miller & Carter restaurant right next door… we went to the cinema in the dragon centre ..spent time in Cardiff bay and Cardiff town centre and tripped off to Swansea on the train and Tenby and the mountains in the car … great trip we will be back 😀 thank you
