Stayed her this weekend for trip away for 4 Yr olds birthday. Great location for the city centre. Big spacious room overlooking the River that was more that adequate for our needs. The receptionists were lovely and one even gave our boys some chocolate for his birthday. She also recommended where to take them on a dreary Sunday. Will definately stay again when in Cardiff.

Stayed here with 4 other biker friends overnight on 17/18th June 2021. Manager was very helpful in facilitating a more secure location for our bikes and for dealing with a cancellation of one of the rooms. Overall rooms and facilities were good and service was of a high standard, with one member of staff in particular going above and beyond the normal service expected. I would definitely stay here again. Steve

I've stayed in a few holiday inn hotels before but this was the worst one. Serious need of a refurbishment, dirty room including stained carpet, bed and hairs in bathroom. Wasnt exactly cheap for the stay either so would've expected a higher standard. Better off using Premier Inn next time!

IHG seem to be in the process of downgrading the status of their Holiday Inn brand. The nominally double room (single occupancy) was much smaller than the average Premier Inn offering and of many Holiday Inn Express places I have stayed in. How 2 people with luggage could have managed is beyond belief. Maintenance and cleanliness were fine. Bathroom was equally minute requiring a bit of a contortion to navigate everything. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Staff were friendly and helpful, with good local knowledge - directing us to a local artisan coffee shop. Good location, central but slightly away from the noisy Cardiff nightlife. Breakfast was OK. Good scrambled eggs, but horrible to have to drink fruit juice from a cardboard carton through a straw - every other hotel on this trip offered glasses of juice. Even worse was having only paper cups with the tea/coffee making in the room. IHG - you should be doing better than this, Gold Elite Member.

Dear Nezcassee Many thanks for your review and also for your loyalty to our brand staying previously across the IHG family. I am sorry that your expectations were not met on this occasion, some of the issues you refer to are part of our ongoing review moving from some standards implemented during the previous lockdowns. Certainly your comments are constructive and we will ensure feedback is acted upon. My apologies once again for the shortcomings you experienced. Certainly if you are in Cardiff again, drop me a personal email and I will ensure you are allocated one of our larger rooms. Kind regards Richard Platts General Manager richard.platts@hicardiffcitycentre.co.uk

Really nice rooms and view , overlooking the park. The beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious , with a nice shower and bath. Only thing is there were two plugs , nowhere near the bed so would bring a portable charger next time but it was okay as we charged them during the night. Lovely experience
