Took the mother in law here and the wife on Tuesday 20th. Promptly shown to a window table where we ordered drinks .all of us went for the carvery...the mil had been here 2 weeks prior and said how nice it had been...Well- The only good thing was the meat was tasty ....fair sized portions. But....the service behind the counter...

Well. I booked well in advance for a table for three. My wife and I take my father in law out for a Christmas meal every year. We like to make it special for him and the 'festive meal' sounded just the trick. We arrived to find the table had not been prepared for a festive menu with no crackers...

Food here is variable but last nights was luke warm and tasteless. Waitress however very friendly. Restaurant was noisy with a large party and lots of kids running riot. Not the relaxing meal we anticipated.

Stayed overnight in the lodge next door. Bit pushed for time in the morning but fancied a breakfast, £4:49 not a bad price. Sign stated "pay at bar" for a self service breakfast from carvery deck. Waited over 5 mins no staff in sight. Went to look at what was available (this was 0820) fried eggs, potatoes, dried baked beans,...

Went for a pleasant Bank Hols lunch. Place was very quiet and wondered if it was because of the bad reviews. To be fair food was lovely just not warm enough for me. Only one issue and to me a big one as it was the same last time I went there... The toilets are dirty and need more regular...

We wanted lunch at 1.30 and were passing the Masons Arms, great. No one to meet us at the sign saying "wait to be seated" so 5 mins later just went and sat down. Waitress as friendly and we went for the carvery. No chef tos erve the meat so waited while waitesses called for him (?) When he came...

We had booked and to be fair were seated promptly but were squeezed in to quite a small space for 5 people. Food was mediocre. Veg and stuffing undercooked and the Yorkshire puddings tasted odd. Overall a good selection and the staff were pleasant. Main gripe was being constantly checked on to see whether we wanted anything else when they...

My wife and I visit the Masons on a regular basis and the food and staff, including the bar staff are very polite, friendly and professional. Two names stand out tonight. Martha the waitress who was very pleasant and efficient and Liam, the young man behind the bar, very polite and helpful. Thank you all for yet another great meal,...

Visited over the Xmas period when the Festive menu was available - £13.49 for 3 courses. Great choice of starters - I had the prawn cocktail. The main course was carvery with a choice of turkey, beef, pork or ham or combination if you prefer. The veg excellent and as much as you could fit on your plate. Desert was...

Probably best not to go on a Sunday, too busy. Don't like the queues so pick your moments. Staff friendly, so all in all worth the experience, but as I say, pick your times out of the RUSH. The staff serve you at tables with drinks and are generally really helpful, but at busy times make sure you call them...
