Having stayed in Bridgend on business several times before and relying on centralised booking system I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel booked by our team (they don't normally get it right). Having travelled for nearly 4 hours and arriving at the hotel, the staff could not do enough for me. Showing me to my room across...

Weekend stay to watch the rugby. Historic building retaining much character. Superb restaurant, comfortable, well appointed rooms and friendly attentive staff. All round excellent choice for a short stay or for touring the Vale .

Came here with the family for an 85th birthday party on Saturday 5th November 2016. The tea and coffee were lovely and plentiful, and the cakes and sandwiches were tasty. We will definitely come back here again :)

Attended a golden wedding anniversary at The Great House, we received the warmest of welcomes, The meals were first class with plenty of time between courses which was perfect. All the staff were pleasant and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was superb (although I personally did not stay there as I live locally) but my visiting relatives...

went for afternoon tea based on reading positive reviews. The food was okay but despite asking staff a couple of times, some of the accompanying drinks only arrived as we were finishing. Not sure what the problem was but I didn't get a warm feeling (or explanation)from the girl serving us.

The room we had was very nice... it was clean and a good size. But we were really here for the food. We opted for the taster menu to give ourselves a good chance of sampling as much as possible. The Great House has been on the Welsh Rarebits website for a long time and its well deserved. The food...

I've been staying in Bridgend for years on my monthly business trip but I had missed this real gem of a hotel Grade 2 listed, really nice individual rooms in a courtyard, staff & owner couldn't have been more welcoming - food was out of this world.......what's not to like?

We went to the restaurant with a travelzoo voucher. I have been here a few times before over the years and have always found it very stuffy and not much atmosphere HOWEVER what a difference front of house lady (sorry dont know your name) was efficient polite and friendly. We had cocktails to start with yum yum elderflower gin fizz...

I recently stayed here on a business trip. This particular trip was grueling with a long day traveling from Ireland on Friday starting at 05.30 and two long days working from 07.30 to 18.00 on Saturday and Sunday. As you can imagine on Friday evening I was dying for a hot shower before having dinner with my colleagues but despite...
