Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First time here but won't be my last! Immaculately clean throughout. Beds comfy and room ascetically decorated. Room even had a desk and two comfy chairs. Very spacious room with balcony and spectacular views. I always go prepared with hot water bottles and extra blankets given most B&Bs are cold but was pleasantly surprised the building was warm throughout and Phil even phoned to check we were warm enough and told me to call if there were any problems. There were none. The dear man even provided fresh milk in the fridge. It is room only but we were happy with that and actually preferred it as it took away that pressure in the mornings. Thanks Phil for your understanding as regards the change of dates too. Much appreciated. You are a star!

This place is awful. The Tv doesn’t work, and there is nobody no available to ask about anything. No taxis (on sundays) so I had to walk here, pulling my case behind me, a very long way along a busy road. No breakfast (despite the advertisement) and no food nearby. The. So-called views from the rooms are very limited, ( although of course the area is wonderful ). The room smells a bit off, and the only thing that does work is the Wi-Fi and the bedside light. No breakfast ( what on earth am I supposed to do about that?) There is no information supplied in the room about the area, things to do etc, and the sound of traffic is constant. I really do NOT recommend this place. I have to spend another night here, much to my regret, but I have paid a lot for it, so I will.

The guest house is a bit outside Betws. On the upside it means it's probably the quietest location in the village. The downside is that due to the closed footbridge walking to the village centre takes 25 instead of ten minutes. Before we arrived there was a computer problem so the email with the key code and our room number didn't arrive - but a phone call solved that problem. Other than that we had no contact with the landlord, so it's a bit impersonal. There's no breakfast offered either, although there's a menu for the Alpine coffee shop, which offers very good breakfast.

My Wife and I booked this, we normally stay in Betws y Coed , decided on this when looking on line, Spoke To Phil who owns Maes E Garth , really down to earth explained that they do not serve breakfasts, you can come and go as you please , recommended the Alpine cafe for food. We arrived at our destination absolutely amazing place, room, view, very welcoming a nice super king size bed en-suite bathroom (lovely). We have booked again! Great places to eat in town (Betws -y-coed ) .

Fab! Arrived early afternoon, after checking that we could check in before 3pm, we were given instructions on how to access the lodge/ room for check in. On arrival we were greeted by the owner. very friendly nice guy, who told us how to get in, where to park; make ourselves at home and left us to it - perfect. did leave contact details if we needed him! Our room was lovely , clean and spacious. tea coffee and hot chocolate and a kettle. en suite shower and double bed with a scenic view. and it certainly was. we ventured from the hotel and ended up in llandudno - very expensive taxi ride back! at around 3/4 am this morning WOW the view of the sky from the room. opened the curtains and literally felt like we could see the whole sky. it was truly spectacular and then this morning the view through the mountains is lovely too- very lord of the rings esque views everywhere! we thoroughly enjoyed the visit and location, just remember to future travellers to check the correct place to park as we didn't and one of the neighbours was waiting for us in the morning to tell us off 😂 so we hope we didn't get the owner in any bother apologies we did think that was the car park. hope to visit again over summer. thanks for a fab stay. oh and the bed is so COMFY. i need that mattress in my life. :o)

We stayed here 3rd-5th of December, what a wonderful welcome as we opened the door and it was so warm, and it stayed like that throughout our stay. We went up to our room and was overjoyed with our beautiful spotless, spacious rooms, and the view was breathtaking. Every convenience was afforded us. Big spacious warm bathroom with a great shower. Tea /Coffee making facilities which were readily replenished. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to drag myself out of a morning but I did to sit & enjoy my cup of tea on the veranda enjoying the peace & tranquility. Betws-Y-Coed is such an idyllic place and we’re definitely going to book to stay here again. The communication with the owner was easy and free flowing, we found him extremely helpful. Also so much information about the surrounding area. There was not one fault at all, as I have said we’re going to come back & stay again with the rest of our family as we were that impressed.

My wife and I (60+) spent a week at Maes-y-Garth. Phil and Becky were the perfect hosts. Shared kitchenette had all the necessary basic utensils and equipment. Situated just outside Betws-y-Coed, perfect location for exploring N. Wales.

Beautiful little B&B. Stayed 3 nights in room 2. Very clean. Shared fridge on landing with fresh milk. And your wine. No problem with WiFi or phone signals. Breakfast not available but plenty of cafes in town. Lovely and quiet. Private parking. Would recommend this.

Phil has put together a really nice B&B in the wonderful town of Betws-y-coed! Our room was very clean and very roomy - not cramped at all. There is an open-kitchen and deck that provided a lovely view of the valley. Easy to get the keys through a lock-box and Phil said he’ll be working on setting up electronic payments soon. He also provides an option to include breakfast at a local restaurant. Great idea to support local business! Make this your go-to place when you visit this part of Wales and/or want to get to Snowdonia.
