We stayed of at Afon Gwyn for a family trip to North Wales (6 of us in total), for 3 nights. I genuinely cannot rate this B&B highly enough, the house and the rooms are beautiful, Cosy and clean and have been finished to such a high standard - they have thought of every little detail! The hosts Gareth & Rana were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for us! There was a large selection of cooked breakfasts every morning which were cooked to perfection and really set us up for each day, as well as cereals, yogurt, juice, selection of roasts, jams, spreads and fresh fruit. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us lots of tips to help plan our days out during our stay. My fiancé and I stayed in the Sorrel Suite which was a huge bedroom with a lovely sofa area, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. We are already planning to go back and stay next year. Afon Gwyn is the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in - highly recommended!

We went to north wales for a weekend full of activities as a family (6 of us, 3 couples) From the second we arrived at Afon Gwyn, we were greeted by the hosts, who were very welcoming. The building is beautiful inside and out and the rooms were amazing! All of our rooms were big, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfasts every morning were delicious, lots of choice and nothing is any trouble for the hosts, who are always on hand to help and serve you. I can not tell you how good our stay was here, we will definitely be staying here again and I am already looking forward to our next stay! Would highly recommend!

Hosts Gareth and Rana most welcoming throughout the stay on two occasions. Rooms were lovely and clean, and more than comfortable, luxurious bedding and very comfortable beds. Perfect location, close enough to everything you might need but not in the thick of it. Highly recommend.

We booked a last minute autumnal trip to Wales and we were lucky enough to stumble on Afon Gwen. We stayed in the Sorrel suite which was spacious, had a comfy bed and huge very clean bathroom. The whole guest house was spotless, warm and welcoming. Breakfast was wonderful lots of choice of hot or cold options and all produce was fresh and tasty. The hosts Gareth and Rana were really friendly with out being overbearing. They shared lots of local knowledge and good tips for parking at certain tourist spots. The house is in a great location for seeing North Wales and some great walks on the door step. The village is lovely, plenty of places to eat and drink. Would absolutely recommend and hope to visit again when in the area.

Autumn trips to Wales are something I love; the place is quieter and even when the weather isn’t the best the colours of the trees and the landscape are beautiful as is the quality of light. If you’re of a photographic bent, it’s fantastic. This year our base was Afon Gwyn, about a kilometre south of Betws-y-coed. If you’re coming from the north, make sure you pull wide enough into the road to take the rather tight turning! Gareth and Rana our hosts were very friendly (but not overbearing), the room was gorgeously comfortable and the breakfasts were very good indeed. Lovely shower in the morning as well. An excellent base for sightseeing and walking (we did a fair bit of both) and there are some good places to eat in Betws-y-coed. Afon Gwyn sets the bar very high for accommodation in this part of the world!
