We had T-Bones steak which was okay, but expensive for the quality. The chips were stated as triple cooked on the menu, I really don't think they were. They certainly had no "crispness" to them. Wine was nice, staff were nice and of course is situated in a lovely area.

We ate here, in the bar/grill restaurant whilst staying nearby. The food was gorgeous. The surroundings smart but unpretentious. Out waitress (was it Jan?) was great. We returned with friends a week later and it was just as good again.

We stayed in the lodge rooms which were modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable although not huge. There is free parking for guests in the public carpark behind the hotel. There is a lift which would make wheel access possible to these rooms from the lodge entrance. The first night we had to walk outside to get into the main hotel...

Called in for lunch one Saturday. I have eaten at the 'pub' end of the hotel before and a bar snack but we decided to try the main hotel for their 2-course special at around £12.00. Not disappointed, You could have easily spent that on the main and be thoroughly satisfied, but two courses was exceptional value for money. Really...

We are dinner here twice and on both occasions the service was excellent being both friendly and efficient. The food was tasty and plentiful although not consistent. The fish and chips was amazing, leg of lamb very good but the pan cooked chicken breast was very pale and bland and my vegetable stroganoff was just adequate. There was no need...

We stayed here just before Christmas as we were on a walking holiday. The rooms were comfortable and the local pub attached had a very good team of staff. The food was superb in the restaurant and we look forward to returning in the future. The village is so picturesque and the walks are to die for.
