Lunch the day after boxing day was absolutely fantastic, I would highly recommended it to all. The atmosphere is lovely, warm and inviting and the food is delicious. Its best to book a table as it is a popular place.

Ty Gwyn is a lovely, friendly hotel with loads of history and character. If you are looking for orderly rooms, fast wifi, solitude and faceless staff then it's not for you! We stayed in a first floor room above the bar and had a great time. The room had creaky floorboards and bed, was a little noisy at times but...

Had a great meal this evening with my wife for Valentines. We booked a couple of weeks previous and could only get a table in the bar but it was great. The bar area was quiet and we had soft chairs to sit in, which, after a hard day in the mountains were welcome. Food was excellent with loads of...

Hotel easy to find, character in bucket loads and food is exceptional. Staff all very helpful and my room very cottagy. Power shower very good. Only thing I would change is a harder bed but I understand all the beds are being changed. Didn't stop me having a good nights sleep though.

We went as a family to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy - always a good sign. We had a fantastic meal and were very well looked after by the staff and Martin. Many thanks/Diolch yn fawr iawn.

We reserved a table for dinner in the bar area (the restaurant was full) and had a very pleasant and relaxed evening there. The menu is extensive so there is a lot of choice. The portions are generous and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall it was a very nice evening.

I have stayed in this part of Wales a few times when tagging along with my partner on his business trips. We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant when staying in a rather bleak hotel down the road. We didn't book, just turned up hoping to be fed. The restaurant was fully booked but the wonderful owner managed to squeeze us...

Not perfect, but has enough charm to make up for it. The rooms and bar are clean, quaint, and cozy. For some reason they really didn't want to let it's pay for our drinks or meals, really wanted to put it on the Room tab. Breakfast is decent, but there are different options listed in the room than on the...
