My husband and his brother stayed here for one night in a twin bedded room and the charge including breakfast was £70 for them both. My husband found the mattress a bit too firm but he slept ok. The room was very nice and clean. There was no en-suite, the bathroom was opposite, which was also very clean - my...

Dolgethin is set right at the beginning of the village and has fantastic views. If you are walking relaxing and have a dog, then this is the place for you. Breakfast is really good with plenty of choice. Staff are very friendly, the owner Ruth makes you very welcome. The hotel is only a short walk for quality pubs/restaurants. If...

I stayed in this B&B with a friend and his son we hired 2 rooms. Both rooms were good quality, set in a victorian style. One room was en suite the other not. The standard of rooms was good. Breakfast in the morning was adequate in the front room. There is some car parking that I recall , but there...

Twin with shared bathroom - room was adequate (just) but rest was poor. Shared bathroom - no hand towels or toiletries provided. Shower was like standing in a damp breeze, gave up in the end and had a sink wash, was wetter than the shower! Only one small/medium towel provided for everything. Room quiet but house was noisy, when next...

My wife and I have a great two night stay here whilst visiting Snowdonia, Ruth was always very welcoming on our return from our long days of walking. This was the first time we had taken a holiday with our dog so wasn't sure what to expect from a dog friendly guest house and I must say we was pleasantly...

We stayed one night. No arrival we received a warm welcome and we're able to have the room earlier than booked. Ruth had lots of information about the area. Our room had lots of character fitting of the age of the building but was spotlessly clean. We had a lovely view of the river. Regarding previous comment about the milk,...

Firstly, I'd like to say the room was spotless and furnished with good quality furniture and so no complaints there. If I were judging room quality and location I would give the place 4 stars. My gripe is with the lady's manner and lack of customer service!! We received a very abrupt/rude reception, presumably for our late arrival at 21.10...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Dolgethin Guest House in North Wales is a Victorian House which lies at the west end of the spectacular Snowdonia Village of Betws-y-Coed.It has a magnificent view to the River Llugwy in the front and a mature forest making fifty shades of green at the rear of the house.Betws-y-Coed is the principal village of the Snowdonia National Park. The Snowdonia National Park in North Wales covers more than 800 square miles, it is a region of haunting beauty and grandeur, of wild rocky mountains, hidden valleys, cascading rivers, still glacial lakes and deep forests. North Wales is an old country; geologically old, with some of the most ancient rocks in the world; old in its economy, based still on the immemorial pastoral or sheep-rearing way of life; old in culture, with traditions in poetry and music that may date back to the Bronze Age; and old in language, for the Welsh you will hear spoken everywhere in the mountain villages is Europe's oldest living language. ... more   less
