Clean and tidy with good shared bathroom / kitchen, good for a country setting and local walking. Be sure to try to book wednesday-Sunday as the bar isn't open on Monday and Tuesday and there is nothing else in this town and you will have to drive 10min for food / drinks

Gary, mein host is a top bloke. The hotel is warm, clean and comfortable. The food is in the evening is good value. Breakfast is help-yourself from the cereal and toaster in the kitchen. (If you want a full breakfast, there is a cafe down the road which is good.) Rooms had bunks, which suited us. It's clean, warm and... More

A lovely Welsh village dog friendly pub (although closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) with great food (Friday and Saturday nights) and a nice selection of local ales. The locals and owner are very welcoming. They also provide free wifi.

The owners are really helpful, the room was warm and clean. Ours had a low ceiling as we were on the top floor - just something to be aware of! There was plenty of tea and coffee in the bunkroom and I was surprised that milk, bread and a selection of cereals were available in the communal kitchen. The food... More

Wow. We really expected for the price to arrive and either want to leave straight away or just get our heads straight down and leave ASAP in the morning. I was really worried it might be horrific. How wrong I was!! I didn't want to leave and have already been telling my partner and parents how we must look to... More

Was staying in the village so went in to eat last Friday night. Bar pleasant & welcoming, very friendly locals, landlord & staff. The restaurant, quite basic in its layout & furniture & the menu very typical pub fare, chilli, gammon, chicken curry, etc. Nice looking lamb shank special. Food was hot & tasty, good value for the price. What... More

Oh my do I love this place! It's in a gorgeous little village in the mountains of Snowdonia, well off the over-touristed path of Betws-y-Coed (Penmachno is about 5 miles down the next valley). It's centrally located to be able to drive to virtually all of north Wales within an hour, and if you love single-tracks over the mountains, it's... More
