I usually say it’s the staff that make a place, Debbie and Mr Jones thank you for your kindness and attentiveness before and during our visit. We had a wonderful Time thank you I appreciate this is a bit of thanks rather than a review but it gives the reader a feel for the place
What a lovely Hotel, booked for 3 nights, but stayed for 6, excellent service, staff and food and a Great base to explore North Wales. Will return. Thankyou Joe and all your staff for your Great service and help.
I would say this is THE place to stay if visiting north wales for sure. Booked for a 60th birthday treat. Beautiful hotel building, the most helpful and friendly staff, fabulous rooms! Had booked for 3 nights ended up extending to 6 as we just loved it, felt like home and was central to all the places we wanted to visit. The staff were all so friendly and knowledgeable, nothing was too much for anyone. Food in the restaurant was delicious both for breakfasts and dinners with all staff attentive and helpful. Rooms were so comfortable and luxurious, and loved the homely feel. We both had a back, neck and shoulder hot stone massage from the in house therapist, healing hands, which was amazing! Just too many great things to say about our stay at the castle, didn’t want to leave ! Just go visit it and you’ll see! Thank you everyone!…
Our stay at the Castle Hotel exceeded all our expectations. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious with all the amenities you could wish for. The food was so fantastic that we did not bother trying to find anywhere else to eat. The thing that made our stay so special was the attitude of every member of staff that we met. Everyone was so naturally helpful and friendly, ensuring that guests were made to feel welcome. (Unfortunately this is not the case in all hotels!) We cannot wait to make a return visit.
Room was outstanding as usual, and all the staff could not be any more helpful, polite and happy. Thoroughly enjoy staying there, food and breakfast perfect Thankyou everyone for a very relaxing time, cocktails are well worth trying
Firstly while the bed was made and sinks etc were clean there was a towel left on radiator, then the cups for the coffee machine had rubbish in them and hadn't been cleaned. There were old capsules in the coffee machine as well. Then I looked for an ironing board and there wasn't one. So asked reception to send one up and they duly did. Then we noticed in the toilet that there was no soap or towel so we had to ask for those to be sent up, as we got them we also noticed that there was only one robe so we asked for one of those when the soap and towel turned up.. Right time for tea and a sit down in the sitting room.. Cleaned the cups made the team and tried to turn on the TV but it wouldn't work. Looking at the TV I could see that the socket was switched off, but turning this on didn't bring the TV to life, looking to see if it was plugged in I noticed that the power cable to the TV was damaged and the inner wires were exposed. It also seem to have missed its PAT test due in March (other electrical items were successfully tagged). Then it was time for my wife to have a beauty treatment and left me in the room. I decided to take a bath and whilst this was OK the overflow fitting was unglued and came away from the bath. Not a major failure but attention to detail items seems to be missing. Later we went to the restaurant for a meal and very good it was too. Very tasty. Coming back to the room I opened my bedside cabinet draw and found two half used bottles of water... I closed the draw and used another one.. There wasn't any AC in the room which is OK as it is an older property but the heating in the bath room wasn't working so made it quite cold.. especially when coming out of the shower or bath. There was also no sanitary bin in the toilet my wife noticed later. Staff were good as when we left the hotel we forgot a small bag and had to return to retrive it. Why didn't we report all these items to the reception desk? Because we didn't want to keep going back and forth and just wanted to relax. Overall the room was good and we had a good nights sleep, but the little items and attention to detail and the lack of cleaning for some items made the stay less enjoyable than it could have been. I thought I give a review so that the Castle can check into these items and their process for cleaning and make things better for other guests..…
We booked a private room for 16 of us for my mum’s 70th birthday. The room was great and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The assistant manager (Mark?) in particular couldn’t do enough for us. They let us decorate the room how we wanted and even went to get us string from a local shop to help us tie the balloons up. During the evening itself, the food and service were excellent. I recommend the sea bass with sweet potato gnocchi! The bar also has a lovely atmosphere-we would definitely recommend visiting here if you’re coming to Conwy. Thank you :-)
Met up with friends for a catch up. Lovely hotel with a lot of character, very well turned out friendly staff. Food was very expensive for portion size but very nice. Free parking and a lovely atmosphere where you could just relax. Would recommend.
Great location and good, clean hotel. Need to pre book dinner table (and breakfast which is a little strange) and can only go to the bar if there is a spare table (again strange for a hotel guest) but otherwise a good hotel.
Had a gorgeous meal with family & friends for my husbands birthday. We were given a private room too, which made it all the more relaxed & enjoyable. The food was absolutely beautiful every plate was clean. Lovely service too!
