Like others in recent reviews we used a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea. Booking process through Groupon was painless and greeted with a smile when we arrived. Directed to the room being used for teas and quickly served a pot of tea and soon followed by an excellent choice of sandwiches and cakes. Good quality, good portions, excellent value with...

Had mixed feelings having read reviews. Quirky hotel with threadbare corridor carpets BUT our room was pleasant, clean, had everything you needed including trouser press, hairdryer etc. Bathroom was immaculate, clean and looked as it it had been recently renovated. Wasn't prepared to pay £15.50 per head for breakfast so strolled into town....all of 2 minutes away!

Stayed for one night only. The hotel is really nice and spread out on a few levels, lots of quirky corridors. We were on the top floor and had a nice view of the courtyard. Room was clean and bathroom very spacious. Bed was a little on the soft side but i slept well. Breakfast was ok. They didnt seem...

As we are new residents in Worcester, and have never set foot in Fownes Hotel, we thought we would try it with the Groupon Voucher offer for Sunday Carvery. We expected a certain standard from a nice-looking hotel from the outside, sadly, we were VERY disappointed. First impression, awful, bland dining room, with chairs you might expect in a Village...

Me and my girlfriend stayed here and we enjoyed every moment, great food and very nice room plus a fantastic location for shopping in Worcester city centre. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Living in Worcester we have often walked passed The Fownes Hotel but never been in, when an offer became available for afternoon tea it seemed an ideal opportunity to try it. On arrival we found the reception staff to be disinterested and not at all welcoming, we were shown to our table which was in the dining room, some tables...

Family lunch not as expected. Room very bland. Music too loud and not at all relaxing in background. Carvery was not of the standard I would expect from a hotel. Setup of said carvery was very odd with condiments in between meat ( only choice of two & very rare) & veg sections, gravy was back where you started at...

OK. Dining room very basic. Only two meat choices and meat was cooked very rare. Staff seemed to be a bit disorganised. Bought on a deal and it was only worth the deal price we paid for. Expected more from a reputable hotel

Easy to miss the turning from the road for this hotel. I had a horribly tired room and a tiny single bed- must have been a children's bed. The room was also noisy. Another issue was the disorganised breakfast buffet- couldn't find mil. Couldn't find butter. Half of the breads were hidden around a corner and missed.
