The hotel room operation is on the one above ground level and accessed via an elevator (lift). The pub is underneath. The rooms have all the necessary features including an en suite bathroom, are clean and of good size. A small number of rooms may be affected by noise from a club below, but mine was fine. A good breakfast...

Dear Tony1784, Thank you for your review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear about your negative, unfortunately the bar does get very busy on a Saturday evening and I'm sorry you had to use an alternative as a result of this. The information you have left for other travellers is great, thank you! I am sure...

We stayed over the weekend for one night. I all fairness I was positively surprised as I did not expect much from Wetherspoon hotel. Service at the reception fantastic and very professional. The room very clean and up to a high standard. In comparison in my opinion so much better than some of the Hilton hotel rooms we stayed in....

Modern and very comfortable rooms in historic buildings (shame you can't feel more of the medieval atmosphere inside). Room 202 very quiet, even on Friday and Saturday nights. The pub next door offering cheap and nice food. Great location in the historic centre.

The hotel is in the heart of Salisbury. Extremely well located. Assume a 5 to 10 minutes walks from the closest parking Despite the fact that it is above a bar, we didn't hear much of a sound from it. Nice bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the family room cannot sleep 4 persons. One of a bed...

We were more than happy with the location and accommodations at the King's Head Inn. The hotel was near the train station, Market Square, and the Cathedral. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The bathroom had recently been updated and was spacious. The elevator/lift only takes you to the first floor, which might be difficult for those...

Well situated, short walk to train station, city center, and cathedral. Lovely building on the banks of the river- some rooms have views down the high street of Poultry Cross. Rooms are nicely appointed - comfy and clean. Staff are very kind. Breakfast not included in price but available for nominal charge just downstairs. Huge bar area has lots of...

The hotel is in an old building with plenty of character. There were a lot of stairs, but we are fit so didn't mind. There is an elevator, but it looked to me like you would still need to walk up at least a half-flight of stairs. Our room was decent sized and the bathroom even had a bathtub. I...

Pleasant place to stay. The reception staff had English as their second language so communication with them was difficult. Great location though and my husband enjoyed the pub food and prices. Parking was a bit difficult to find but we worked it out in the end. It was a short walk from the hotel.

Had a great stay - room very comfortable, clean and cosy! Staff very helpful and a bonus being able to leave bags at reception all day after checking out. Location fantastic, being a few minutes from Cathedral Close, coffees/tea shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend as a reasonably priced hotel from which to explore Salisbury.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The site of this Wetherspoon pub has been occupied by an inn since the 15th century. By c1520, it was known as the King's Head, and it retained that name until it was rebuilt in the 1880s. The County Hotel was, itself, a change of name some time during the 1880s or 1890s. Before then, it was the Kings Head and Brewery. We have 33 individual bedrooms. All of our rooms are en suite and include tea- and coffee-making facilities, air conditioning, a hair dryer, TV and free Wi-Fi, also available in the pub. Please be aware that we are a Lloyds No 1 bar so we will be playing music in the pub from Thursday to Saturday nights. Limited quiet rooms are available so please telephone in advance to request one. We have no onsite parking but there is a city centre car park we recommend that is only a 3-5 minute walk away. You are able to stop on the pub entrance to unload your luggage before you go and park. ... more   less
