Great hotel very quirky, downside NO PARKING, which we knew about and was told it wouldn't be a problem as we could buy vouchers Great, what they failed to tell us that the carnival was in town, so no parking and most of the streets were closed. big problem with two cars to park. and thousands of people with their...

Very old characterful accommodation. Comfortable room, with everything on a slope. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Convenient for the cathedral and the town shops, and a 20-minute walk from the station if you are on foot.

Stayed overnight as a break on a leisurely trip from Devon to London. No parking at the hotel but a voucher available for 24 hours in the nearby public carpark. Entrance is through the bar and winding corridor, up ancient stairs to a beautifully furnished room (floor seemed to be on a slight slope, adding to the whole antique feeling)...

Booked an overnight stay and evening meal as a belated Birthday treat for my Wife We drove down from Reading on Saturday morning and spent the day exploring the Market and shops stopping at a couple of bars on the way round the town We eventually checked in at the Hotel and we're shown to a lovely room After a...

The location is just across the street from the St Ann's gate which leads directly into the cathedral close. The location cannot be better for history buffs. The building itself is quite interesting and they have annexed a nearby store front (from Osmond Statuary and Mason) for a rather unusual entrance to both the hotel and restaurant. The breakfast was...

Having Sunday Luncheon dined at The Chapter house a few months earlier, we decided to meet up again before several of our group departed on their annual travels. We had made a reservation for mid afternoon. Our table awaited us as expected and we all choose from the "Roast" menu. The portions were more than ample, with a choice of...

Not sure why this is a B&B an not a Hotel. We had a comfortable, quirky room at the front of the hotel; however, with the double glazing road noise was not an issue. The hotel is well positioned for the centre of Salisbury and only down side is the lack of car park, however a public car park was...

The staff at the Chapter House are amazing. They are all very friendly and truly made the experience of our stay a pleasant one. They are warm and welcoming and happy to help. The food is excellent and the rooms are quaint and comfortable. Our shower was heavenly and the bed was soft and comfortable.

Good location for walking around the town. Really characterful old building, wonky stairs and low ceilings. Room was boutique hotel style, and bathroom was lovely. We actually switched from a room facing the street (we were worried about traffic noise, and the bathroom only had a bath with no shower), to one in the centre of the building which was...

Historic and intriguing building kitted out with quirkiness and comfort. Beautiful linen and an extraordinarily comfortable bed. Only downside is the road noise but it dies down overnight and the position so close to the Cathedral is worth it. Would also be good to be able to read about the history of the building itself. Excellent service and a great...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of historic Salisbury, The Chapter House comprises a cosy steakhouse restaurant, friendly pub and 17 comfortable letting rooms. It lies within easy reach of some of Southern England's most important landmarks. The stone for the Salisbury Cathedral, a mere five minute walk away, was cut in what is now the restaurant, making the hotel's initial construction almost 800 years old. Some of the original stone and ironwork is still left exposed inside the property. The 17 boutique en-suite rooms are all unique and quirky, some with original panelling and fireplaces and all with fluffy goose down duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, luxurious H2K toiletries and flatscreen TVs. The Chapter House boasts a bustling restaurant and grillhouse where flame grilled steaks, a la carte dining and hearty pub food are served in an ambient environment. The perfect base when visiting Wiltshire's historic sites, The Chapter House is also an ideal stop over en route to the coast or as a home-from-home option when on a business trip. ... more   less
