The Chapter House has tons of charm but with modern amenities. The food is also amazing. Everyone there was so helpful and professional. They allowed us to keep our luggage there even after checking out, so we could go to Stonehenge. We did have to book 2 rooms for our family of 4, but our teens loved that they could...

Very charming building & warm, friendly hosts. The room had everything you need & the bed is wonderfully comfy. Menu has some South African influenced choices, which suited me. Reasonably priced & tasty. Good breakfast options & the eggs royale was cooked to perfection. The only downside is there is no on site parking which I didn't pick up on...

Had the executive family room and it was amazing. Huge spacious and beautifully decorated room with a free standing bath plus a separate bathroom with really powerful shower. Plenty of towels and lovely toiletries and the room had plenty of heaters, an iron, a hairdryer etc. Well stocked tea and coffee tray and even a Krups coffee machine! There was...

The Staff really try their best for you. We booked directly with the establishment and room upgraded and were spoilt when mentioning my Husband was celebrating his birthday the night we planned our stay with them. Having been promised room 5 which was a spacious double room with an elegant bath tub in the bedroom and also a separate ensuite...

My wife wanted a location where she could walk to everything in Salisbury and found the Chapter House while walking down St. John's Street. After a week here with more to go, I can say that this place meets and exceeds all our needs. From the beginning, Thanassi and Jill have done everything possible to make the stay exceptional. Everyone...

What a fantastic Sunday lunch in a great setting. The service was good and fast. The whole atmosphere was great! I advise all to book as the restaurant was busy. The meal was huge and we were all very happy!

We had a beautiful large room - really good quality. Distinctive as was the rest of the hotel. Bathroom fine although a bath would have been nice - but I'm sure if we'd requested one when we booked that would have been sorted. Breakfast was good, as was the service. Definitely recommend - I'd certainly stay there again.

We had a great stay. Impressive room, large and comfortable, spotlessly clean and not noisy despite overlooking the street at the front of the hotel. Really friendly service from everyone at the hotel. Our only issue was slightly slow service in the restaurant. Fabulously convenient location for exploring the cathedral and town.

A lovely restaraunt and you get what you pay for in quality, not necessarily portion size. It is expensive but is very tasty. Not masses of choice but the staff are very nice and know a lot about the food if you ask them questions! Would only go on special occasions if willing to spend more money as a treat

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of historic Salisbury, The Chapter House comprises a cosy steakhouse restaurant, friendly pub and 17 comfortable letting rooms. It lies within easy reach of some of Southern England's most important landmarks. The stone for the Salisbury Cathedral, a mere five minute walk away, was cut in what is now the restaurant, making the hotel's initial construction almost 800 years old. Some of the original stone and ironwork is still left exposed inside the property. The 17 boutique en-suite rooms are all unique and quirky, some with original panelling and fireplaces and all with fluffy goose down duvets, Egyptian cotton linen, luxurious H2K toiletries and flatscreen TVs. The Chapter House boasts a bustling restaurant and grillhouse where flame grilled steaks, a la carte dining and hearty pub food are served in an ambient environment. The perfect base when visiting Wiltshire's historic sites, The Chapter House is also an ideal stop over en route to the coast or as a home-from-home option when on a business trip. ... more   less
