We stayed for one night, just the two of us, when visiting my godmother in Salisbury. What we needed was a conveniently located hotel, with restaurant, and something out of the ordinary. On the web, The Red Lion fitted the bill: conveniently located - Tick - right in the centre of town with restaurant - Tick - both a restaurant...

Excellent service, restful atmosphere and their food is a treat to eat! Especially try their Fish & Chips - Beautiful batter and white flakey cod. Some quiet music to help the digestion and surrounded by other satisfied clients.

Lovely historic hotel in great location. Centrally situated, comfortable, cosy hotel, within easy walking distance of tourist attractions,i.e. Cathedral ( best original Magna Carta) historical city centre and shops. Very close to archaeological sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and not too far from Bath. Staff helpful and friendly,

Our room was impressive and immaculate. True example of a great hotel especially the attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble for Laura at reception who made our stay extra special right from her taking our booking to checking out. Will be returning 👌🏼👌🏼

Went here for lunch today and was really impressed. We ate in the bar which is beautiful. It's spacious and nicely decorated and the tables aren't on top of each other. The service was wonderful. The staff were immaculate in their uniform and so friendly and polite. I had the fish finger sandwich with fries. It was amazing and I...

This elegant hotel is a perfect place to sit down and take some time over a meal, or afternoon tea when shopping in Salisbury. The waiting staff are courteous and willing and the coffee is good. Characterful hotel with ambiance and charm.

I was staying here with some work colleagues on business for two nights. The hotel is lovely. It is an old coaching inn, and had been done out nicely. I had room service on the first night as I was tired from travelling. The food was very nice indeed, arrived in good time to my room, and was very well...

A lovely old inn that does not feel faded or time-worn. My bedroom and bed were large, comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was also large and of a very good standard. The hotel has a period feel yet easily meets the requirements of a modern traveller. The dining room was very well decorated and maintained. The breakfast was perfect....

So civilised -- like time gone back to an era of politeness and refinement. Great service and such good value. Absolutely lovely. Won't hesitate to have lunch there again in future. Freshest sandwiches with lovely filling and chips to die for.
