Stayed here for one night as we were attending a function nearby at The Faversham, which is about 5 minutes walk away. It is an old Victorian building which is in quite a run-down condition. The first thing that greets you is a strong smell of mothballs as you walk in. We stayed in Room 15 up in the attic.... More

Hotel was ok for 1 night not sure I would spend any longer here. Daughter graduated at Leeds Uni so location was excellent & had car parking space which was very handy. Staff very friendly & cooked breakfast just about ok. Hotel though needs complete overhaul as rooms looking very tired & neglected.

Stayed in the single room £40/night top floor for a few days while attending a course. The room was clean, comfortable, had free parking (though limited by car space) and included a free cooked breakfast. For accommodation near Leeds university on a budget, this is an exceptional place to stay.

The rooms are greatly in need up a freshen up. No nets at the window so you have to get dressed with the curtains closed. The shower seems to come off the mains water so goes hot and cold and is not very strong. A wet bath mat was left on the floor of our bathroom. The breakfast was just... More

I travelled from my country and going to work in University of Leeds in late April. I booked a room online and got confirmed quickly. When I arrived at the hotel I was assigned in Avalon Guest House, one block down the hill. The room size was enough for me. The shared shower room (unfortunately not big enough) and toilet... More

We needed a hotel for one night in Leeds - I particularly needed car parking as we were attending a social gathering. The 'posher' hotels in the centre were charging extra for parking which was not even located at the hotel. I was booked at the Avalon, when we got there we had a choice of single rooms or a twin... Although I thought I was going to be at the Avalon, the move up the road was no issue. Even though the bed was hard and short it was clean and fresh, the shower was small but clean and tidy. The hot water was intermittent which was annoying but the winner of me was the fact the landlord/owner was the... More

We had our booking for our Leeds visit with the Avalon Guest House, but upon arrival we were directed to their other establishment, the Glenarth Hotel (3 minutes up the road) which is where we had been moved to without prior notification. Nevertheless, we got to the Glengarth and from then on, everything went exactly as you'd expect. The rooms... More

We booked to stay at avalon guest house but upon arrival were told we would be staying in glengarth which is a couple of minutes in foot up the hill. (Owned by the same people) We received a warm welcome, although when we were asked to pay he said it was 170.00 for the family room and the single room... More

I arrived at the Avalon, where I had booked to be sent to their sister hotel (here), which fortunately was slightly more convenient. I got inside and was asked if I wanted to pay by cash or by card; to which I replied "card please", only to be told "well the card machine is broken, so it must be cash".... More
