Perfect location. If you appreciate a traditional hotel, this is it. Accept the fact that the pace of life in Haworth may be slower than you are used to. That's part of its charm and the reason for having a break. Good breakfast choice. Did not have meal in restaurant but did have two evening meals from bar menu which...

Went again this year for the 1940`s weekend, great weekend made even better by staying at the old white lion,a lovely clean room with fantastic views, serviced very well every day by lovely sociable cleaners who replenish the tea, coffee and biscuits. The staff on reception and behind the bar are very good and helpful at a very busy time,...

Just spent a night here for the 1940s weekend, perfect location for this weekend, had the evening meal in the restaurant, we had different meals and both were very good, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, great view from the window, parking is tight but not a problem, a good hearty breakfast. Great staff, all very helpful.

An nice hotel but rooms could do with fresning up mouldy shower tray cobwebs blown bulbs. That aside superb comfy bed and a fantastic restraunt excellent food and service. The breakfast was also superb.located in the centre of Hebden with local shops pubs and restraunts on the doorstep. A very nice corner of the world.

Called in for dinner whilst we were in the area for a short break. Menu selection was good as was the choice of the pork loin from the special board. My wife had fish (haddock) and chips, which were also very good. The place is quite old and it has to be said we found the bar a little dingy,...

We didn't expect anything fancy from this old inn right in the heart of Haworth village, a few steps from the Bronte Parsonage. And we didn't get anything fancy. But we were pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was, how new and fresh the bathroom was, and how strong and hot the shower was. This sort of plain old...

I spent three nights here recently so I could be near family. It was my second visit & I will return. The staff are friendly & the food is delicious. I had a single room so it was small but there was everything I needed including tv & a tea tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water & biscuits.

During a week's stay we visited for dinner with a couple of visiting friends. Despite it being a freezing cold evening there was little or no heating on and so we were uncomfortably cold. There was ano ineffective gas fire which threw out very little heat despite us asking for it to be turned up. Staff were inattentive and kept...

Stayed here for one night on the way back from Scotland. The room was quite small and you could hear noise from neighbouring rooms. According to my wife, the man in the adjacent room could snore for England! I would best describe the room as functional. The full English breakfast was a real treat though.

Enjoyed a comfortable stay at the Old White Lion last weekend over Easter. The Inn has lots of original character and has retained many original features which is nice and the staff on whole were generally friendly and attentive. The restaurant décor was lovely with hard floor, oak beams and what appeared to be original walls however the bar area...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 300 year old facade of this former coaching inn hides the fact this family run hotel combines charming olde world features with thoroughly modern facilities. Situated at the top of the famous cobbled street, walked by the Revd. Patrick Bronte and his famous family. In more recent times as illustrated on TV in Hovis advertisements. This is very much an establishment where food and drink are taken seriously, and dispensed along with hospitality in good measure. Warmth, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere prevail throughout the 14 en-suite bedrooms, beamed bars, restaurant and oak paneled lounge.Freshly prepared food is provided by the highly qualified chefs. Keeping up with modern trends, without ignoring the popularity of old favourites. Featured in major food guides the Gimmerton restaurant is open every evening. An extensive range of reasonably priced bar meals being available in the cosy bars, where real ales are prominent. Exceptional value breaks available both mid-week as well as weekends throughout the year. ... more   less
