Enjoyed a comfortable stay at the Old White Lion last weekend over Easter. The Inn has lots of original character and has retained many original features which is nice and the staff on whole were generally friendly and attentive. The restaurant décor was lovely with hard floor, oak beams and what appeared to be original walls however the bar area...

Booked to eat here during a short stay in Howarth - based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. Good menu with plenty of choice. Opted for steak which was very good (and huge!) The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a bit quiet in the restaurant (though busy in the bar) when we visited, but we...

A prominent location, two minutes walk from the Bronte Parsonage. Oak beams and panelling, traditionally run hotel. Limited hotel parking is down Changegate; would recommend the public parking lot off North Street, for which the hotel provides vouchers. Stayed two nights: warm, comfortable. Room was small but adequate, considering the historic layout of the building. Although the main street is...

My husband and myself spent easter weekend for 3 nights at the white lion. It was a treat for my husbands bday and what a lovely stay we had. Not only was the food top class (bar meal and restaurant) but the staff were very friendly and the room was lovely and clean (gorgeous bathroom). We felt very looked after...

Breakfast is included and they did a good vegan one. They provided soya milk for cereal / tea / coffee, fresh fruit, and did a cooked breakfast of potato rosti, mushrooms, tomato, and baked beans and made sure to let me know they used vegetable oil for cooking. I could have had toast with jam or marmite too, but was...

We called here last week for our day trip to Haworth and always stay here for our weekends: 1940's and Steampunk. We love this pub, its layout, food, friendly staff. Just amazing and delightful. We tried a bar meal for the first time. Superb. Can't wait to go back at the end of May.

Greeted by helpful and friendly staff when we checked in. Our room (9) had a picture window view over old roofscape to nearby hills. Clean tidy room and ensuite bathroom with shower. This is a historic Inn, so stairs were a bit wiggly! Excellent bar or restaurant meals. Again with very helpful bar staff & waitresses. Good plates of food...

Visiting Haworth for the weekend we ate in the bar on Friday night with friends. We had rib eye steak, scampi, burger and chicken in peppercorn sauce. The scampi and steak in particular were huge, steak medium rare as requested, homemade chips, all lovely -just massive portions tbh. If you aren't a big eater, suggest sharing something. Staff so warm...

That Haworth, the home of all things Bronte, is a major tourist destination is beyond doubt. Built on a steep hillside, overlooking the Worth Valley, its cobbled street, linking the wider world to its main attractions is probably the least wheelchair friendly destination in England; a true boneshaker of a ride. In prime position at the top end of the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 300 year old facade of this former coaching inn hides the fact this family run hotel combines charming olde world features with thoroughly modern facilities. Situated at the top of the famous cobbled street, walked by the Revd. Patrick Bronte and his famous family. In more recent times as illustrated on TV in Hovis advertisements. This is very much an establishment where food and drink are taken seriously, and dispensed along with hospitality in good measure. Warmth, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere prevail throughout the 14 en-suite bedrooms, beamed bars, restaurant and oak paneled lounge.Freshly prepared food is provided by the highly qualified chefs. Keeping up with modern trends, without ignoring the popularity of old favourites. Featured in major food guides the Gimmerton restaurant is open every evening. An extensive range of reasonably priced bar meals being available in the cosy bars, where real ales are prominent. Exceptional value breaks available both mid-week as well as weekends throughout the year. ... more   less
