I stayed here last year and it was showing the signs of wear and tear, however having just visited find the bedrooms have new furniture and flooring giving an all together better impression and it does offer really good value for money.

I ended up here following a disagreement with my girlfriend so was booked last minute.

Looked forward to visiting this pub for the choice of beers and the decor.
The decor was interesting as suggested with very old world charm.
The choice of beer was so very disappointing. 10 fine hand pumps but on 2 actually serving beers.

The smell of gas when we first walked in had me slightly worried?!
Quite a dark place.
Bedrooms very dated and the place I am sure would look amazing with TLC.
Traffic noise & music meant not much sleep.

I agree with your comments.There may well have been a slight smell of gas when you walked in .The Beehive has 54 gas lights and very occasionally one blows out on a windy day or the gas lighter misses one!Our lighting is subdued being gas...More
