The key to the door could have worked better - we had a problem getting into the room. The unnecessary provision of robes and slippers didn't compensate for rather poor decoration with a bad, patchy ceiling finish.

At last, a proper pub, with decent rooms, normal food, normal guests - Exactly what you expect from an English Country Pub. We have stayed at the Swan a number of times and had mixed experiences - but under the new management, everything seems to run well. Bed rooms are straight forward, clean and newly decorated. The Pub itself is...

Overall the hotel was good and only 15 minute easy drive to Goodwood which was useful. Room was small, and not much space for luggage. Would have benefitted from storage. Staff very friendly, the bar had good variety of drinks including cocktails. Menu for dinner was good and varied. Food was good Breakfast was varied and cooked individually.

Excellent hotel in a beautiful English town. Perfect location as everything is a short walk away and all day parking for £7 is very reasonable. Rooms fairly small but more then adequate for a short stay. Great breakfasts and although we did not have dinner in hotel, as we wanted to get out and see a bit of the town,...

Loved the pub, great brekkie, good clean bedlinen but the room was disappointing. Poorly designed, badly finished, cheap furnishings. We thought we'd booked a double shower too, turned out it was a poky shower-room with one shower and no bath to soak in. In reality it's pretty standard but pricey. Needs a makeover with a proper designer to achieve the...

I stay regularly here on business and the hotel delivers on all fronts. Some of the rooms are not that big but are adequate for a night or so. The wifi is generally very good, as are the breakfasts. Great location too.

The pub was nicely appointed downstairs, but we felt that the 'superior room' we had been allocated was very averagely decorated and small, with no room for a single chair. The bathroom too was small. Breakfast and dinner were good and the hotel has a good central location.

Dear E6425TZjohnc, Thank you for your comments. Firstly, I am pleased that you liked the pub and enjoyed your meals with us. Secondly, I am sorry if you felt that the room you were given was smaller than expected. The unique boutique rooms each differ in size and shape due to the age of the building however we rate them...

Received a warm welcome from the bar staff on arrival. Checked in promptly and offered here with booking somewhere for dinner. Our cosy room had, plenty of space for the 2 of us, hanging space for clothes and drawers for bits and pieces. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water in rooms. Robes and slippers and shortbread in a tin...

Was about to book online for a Sunday evening, phoned Saturday evening to check if there was space for a travel cot and staff were very helpful. A great location in small town centre. Pay and display car park outside (no parking included with room). Very smart bar/dining area. Friendly welcome. Quirky narrow staircase to rooms. Room was clean, nicely...

Dear Christopher B, Thank you for your detailed review. It's great to know that you felt there was great service 'at all times' and that you were pleased with the room facilities and breakfast - the Eggs Benedict is a popular choice! We hope you would consider staying again. Beata Slapikaite General Manager

Pleasant pub restaurant. Good service. Starters were excellent : Soup and Squid. Mains more mixed with no shortage on quantity but my chicken burger lacked any real flavour. Reasonable choice of wines but these were relatively expensive for a pub restaurant. However, the wine we picked (piccolo de Pinet) was excellent. Would defiantly return but not have the chicken burger.
