This was a business booking for a birthday afternoon tea. We booked for 12noon. Drinks came out first and the coffee pots looked like they had spill marks on them. My colleague even noticed fat splatter on one pot. When the sandwiches came out late at 12.25 they were really unimaginative i.e. just cheese, just ham, just tuna, just beef,...

Only spent one night here on business and I am glad. The room I was given was beyond shabby. (Room 19 on the ground floor). Rotten window frame with mould, filthy and mouldy bathroom, dirty cruddy finger marks on the light switches, filthy curtains, filthy carpet, threadbare quilt on top of a disgusting and uncomfortable mattress with springs pushing my...

What a lovely place for afternoon tea. Able to pick sandwiches of your choice on a choice of white or brown bread. Scones are homemade and were still warm. Good selection of cakes and unlimited tea and coffee. Excellent service from staff. An all round lovely relaxing day.

Stayed in four poster bedroom nice.... lovely large window so beware when getting dressed not a big issue though . Decor could do with some upgrading /tlc but a nice comfortable room the only downside is it was a bit dark could do with better lighting for make up etc . Bed was comfortable and we slept well. Had a...

I will admit after reading some reviews I wondered if I was staying in the same hotel. Everything was fine. Yes some of the decor is dated but you can clearly see that this is being worked on. Check in was fast, the staff helpful with directions and recommendations. The room was clean, the bed comfy. Didn't get disturbed by...

My daughters booked this hotel for a afternoon tea, as it was my birthday. There were 4 adults and a 8 year old. We had a really lovely time the staff were very good . They even bought put a small cake with a candle and sang happy birthday. The "tea" itself was very nice and fresh.

Generally some of the other recent reviews are correct. I stayed in Room 33, down a corridor in a very bad state of repair. Wallpaper peeling etc. The room was tired but for one night, ok. The bedding was clean. Sadly the pictures you see must be of some renovated rooms? The staff were great! The bar and food was...

A last minute booking at a very good price so that needs considering. My room was clean and tidy but a little dated with the bathroom being even more tired. However they are clearly in the process of renovating as the corridor was freshly plastered. At the price I paid it was good value but not quite as the pictures...

Now usually I stay in hotels that I have booked and this time we left it up to our colleague. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! Without a doubt the worst place I've stayed and I've stayed in some small random across the country. Some old hotels are small, quaint, have character and retain the old features. Some hotels are new and modern. This...
