Received a good deal by using my loyalty membership and booking direct with Best Western online, so I decided to stay in an executive double room for five nights. Check-in was a smooth process, although I had to ask where my room was and where breakfast was served, which should be information given routinely. My room was a very good size and clean, with the exception of top of the wardrobe area, which was rather dusty. There was one light out in the bathroom and the body wash and shampoo bottles were completely empty, but once I mentioned this at reception, these issues were rectified at the earliest opportunity. It looked like the room wasn't occupied for a while before me, so these issues should have been picked up prior to my arrival, however, the staff were very efficient at sorting this out. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with a good range of hot and cold buffet items, and a coffee machine with various options such as tea, coffee, cappuccino and mocha etc. Anything that ran out during service was replenished quickly. It was very hot on a couple of the days during my stay, so I asked for a fan from reception, which was placed in my room when I arrived back in the evening with no problems at all. The decor could do with some updating, but the bed was comfortable and the cleaning was thorough. There was also a very secure multi-storey car park where you could get directly through to the rooms via the lift or stairs from levels one and two. Plenty of spaces too. Despite some minor issues, I would not hesitate in returning to this hotel.

We only paid £50 for one night in a standard room including a full English breakfast. As other people have said the standard rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate for one night. Room would benefit from redecorating in a brighter colour and a deep clean but it was clean enough, i.e. bed and towels and bath room were very clean. Breakfast was good quality, Full English consisted of buffet of bacon, sausage, baked beans, tomato, mushrooms, black pudding, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, hash browns we were also offered poached eggs. There was also yogurts, croissants, toast, cereal and fresh fruit salad. Only slight issue was cooked food could have been a bit hotter. As it was a buffet all guests were handling the serving utensils but this was in line with current covid regulations. Only problems with room that bothered us a little was a humming noise possibly a generator or air con unit and the pressure on the shower was a little low. Staff were friendly and helpful.Car parking is free. We would stay again at that price as it was very near our daughter who we were visiting.

stayed here before around 30 yrs ago when a Thisttle hotel, and decided to stay again last weekend for a Birmingham visit.
All staff were very pleasant and helpful , we were allowed to check in before noon as our room was ready last Saturday and the room was nice and clean despite being a cosy double it met our needs just fine, particularly as it was a buy a gift voucher for a recent anniversary that we were spending.
Breakfast was lovely but we did not dine in during the evenings so cannot comment.
The car park on the 1st & 2nd floor is very convenient particularly more so if weather is inclement ! the birmingham bus stop is just outside the hotel so very convenient for a cheap way to get around the city, and they run past there every 10 mins or so.
thanks to the great team for a great stay.

This hotel was booked for 1 night as a last minute thing, but was a great find! £65 per room with breakfast included, free parking in secure car park. Hotel room was comfortable, though slightly dated it ticked all the main boxes of providing a comfortable sleep, in room facilities and a hot shower. The hotel car park was gated and gave extremely easy access to rooms from inside the car park, the check in was straight forward and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. No ask was ever too much trouble and they always went above and beyond, ensured any additional requests were adhered to.
Though the rooms we stayed in (classic double) had tight spaces, not entirely spotless and bathroom was dated, it doesn't take anything away from the purpose of staying there for the price we paid with a decent breakfast imcluded, which outweighed any of the very minimal downfalls. The bar, lounge and restaurant area was comfortable and modern, and very spacious and this is why the hotel deserves 5 stars. Had the service from the staff not been exceptional, this would have impacted my overall rating.
Hotel is definitely recommended and we will definitely return when needing another short stay when coming up to Birmingham!

I experienced the greatest of all customer service at the Strathallen from friendly staff and management who are efficient and professional and always striving to go that extra mile to ensure that their guests have the finest of stays.
The hotel warrants its four star rating however is a little jaded in terms of décor, especially in the corridors of the hotel.
The rooms are very functional, well decorated and maintained, containing everything that you require for a comfortable stay with special mention for the beds which are excellent, aiding a great nights sleep.
The room has a smart modern television and the Wi-Fi is speedy and reliable, the seating is very comfortable and the desk a great place to work at.
The bathroom is dated in terms of décor and maintenance, the biggest let down at this hotel in my opinion made worse by the pathetic water pressure from the shower, though the fluffy towels are really nice.
Breakfast was a buffet event where you will find a good selection of hot food of high quality ingredients cooked extremely well, however the continental selection is very poor with only mini croissants and other pasties yet no cold meats and cheeses. Personally I disliked the coffee and the juices very poor quality.
The hotel is on the main arterial road of the Hagley Road about two miles from the city centre, one mile from the entertainment centre of Broad Street both of which can be accessed with ease from the bus stops adjacent to the hotel, the best way to access the city, buses running every five minutes during the day and throughout the night.
All in all good value for money comfortable stay at a very welcoming hotel which I highly recommend to others.

I visit this hotel at least 3 to 4 times a month. Every time I am satisfied with my stay. From clean, fresh air rooms with windows that can open slightly, to staff that goes out of their way to treat each guest as a celebrity! Everything is always in good working order and the hotel offers a truly good night’s rest, only a stone throw away from City Centre

Spent the night here with my sister for a gig at the arena so wanted somewhere decent and affordable. It fulfilled these requirements. Just.
Hideous building which seems to be a hotel built on top of a car park but staffed with very friendly people and we were checked in quickly and efficiently. Apart from the large damp patch on the ceiling all seemed well.
We found the room and instantly laughed at just how cramped it was. The lack of wardrobe or shelves was immediately apparent but the abundance of more sockets than two people could possibly use was welcome. The view was something else. Imagine a fire escape that had been recently scraped clean of pigeon effluent and this would be marginally more attractive. We were glad it had been recently scraped as there was a significant draft from the window that the tiny radiator could not alleviate. In fact, no need to imagine - see attached image :)
The shower was very good and we enjoyed the sounds of the pipes heating and cooling. The sign in the bathroom says to look for more towels in the wardrobe but there is no wardrobe.
After the gig we went straight to bed but sleep was elusive as everything was so loud. Almost as if they’d known about the theory of sound-proofing and done the opposite. Doors slammed and creaked, conversations reverberated around the corridors, pipes groaned and electrical sockets hissed and whizzed. I will forever relish being awoken by a man deciding that his phone chat with someone from the US (to ‘close the deal’) had to happen at 2am and again brought into consciousness by the 4am bangs and groans of headboard and amorous couple. Enjoy every flush, cough and intestinal noise from your neighbours too.

A very good quality hotel at a very competitive price. It has a range of rooms available at various prices, from a cosy double to a large double with sitting area. The public areas are well appointed with a good restaurant and bar area. Parking is free and plentiful. The hotel is just outside the clean air charging zone but affords easy access to the city centre with bus stops at the front door. All staff were friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed several times and will be returning soon.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night on 06/11/21 with my two best friends as part of a girlie weekend (meal out and Steps concert). Whilst this hotel may not be central to birmingham city centre, it’s less than a 10 min taxi away. We loved our interconnecting room on the 7th floor, we liked the clean contemporary decor and crisp white cotton bed linen. Beds are super comfy and the rooms are spacious. We had a tasty breakfast the next morning, the choice is good and Amar (one of the staff in the breakfast room) was so helpful when I asked for a non dairy milk alternative, he bought me oat milk from the kitchen. When we checked in Leah was so efficient and friendly, she ordered our taxi to the Italian restaurant (Laghi’s, which I highly recommend, if you are a foodie). Upon check out on Sunday morning we had a lovely farewell from a fabulous young man Shanoi on reception, so personable and curtious. The staff at this hotel most receive good training as it’s so encouraging to be treated with respect and hospitality. Would definitely return in the future, infact going to book for two nights in August 2022 when we return to go to see Les miserables at the Hipperdrome. All in all an enjoyable stay at the Strathallen, Hagley road.

Sadly due to being the only hotel available at the time, we had to make do. We checked in and the corridors smell of mould, the room was small but expected. The bed sheet had brown marks on that looked like human fluids, this was blamed on ‘iron marks’ hmmm… There is no hot water which meant we had to check out at 8am due to not having the basic needs.
There were bugs & spiders everywhere like they have been making the room there home for months. I have bad asthma and wouldn’t recommend as both room and hallways were covered in dust to inhaler on constantly by my side.
If you are on a budget, we understand that room is small but cleaning standards need to be met as it’s a basic human standard.
If you are coming to Birmingham, please book a better hotel as you will be disappointed and left feeling dirty.
