Basic but adequate. Very handy to visit family living in student accommodation. Decent size rooms. Be warned the lift only goes up as far as the first floor. Free parking which is always a plus. Nice and close to the city too.

Stayed here on a recent trip to Birmingham University. On arrival, we found that there weren't enough spaces in the car park to accommodate all guests. The hotel itself was very dated and was very much like an old fashioned youth hostel. In desperate need of modernisation, it looked rather run down. The bedroom was functional but don't expect anything...

Spent a night and location is very good if you come for Birmingham University. Room was clean and quite, breakfast charged at £9, a bit excessive. Shower with very very low water pressure and barely sufficient to rinse hair.

Clean, pleasant room, in Peter Scott building; good position at rear, thus quieter than front. T/Coffee facilities in room plus 14 sockets - plenty for all you electronics! Pleasant bar area. Good for access to University student residential areas, and plenty of parking.

Cheap, clean and warm, efficient and friendly staff. It stops there with the praise I'm afraid The rooms are 70's style not as pictured Booked online a twin as that's all they had left Got allocated Lucas house My sons student accommodation was better than this The window was a poor fit and single glazed subsequently all the activities of...

My daughter and I stayed in the Lewis Building for one night when on a Birmingham University visit. Here are the pros: - it's easy to find using a sat nav - parking is outside the building at no extra charge. We were allowed to leave the car there on the day we visited the university even though we'd checked...

This place (Lucas House) reminds me of a youth hostel in Bratislava circa 1970. And I have been to such places. The staff is really nice but it is hard to overstate how outdated the place is- harsh and noisy fluorescent lights; dirty carpet; dorm room furnishings. Breakfast is appalling- fake, dried out eggs under a hot lamp, canned fruit,...

The house keeping team opened my door for four times just because I was checking out late, the problem was I already paid for the late check out for £20. Finally, the receptionist said nothing about this while i was checking out at the front desk. It was really awful experience, and I strongly recommend those guests who doesn't need...

This was my second visit in two years. I was allocated Peter Scott building, and this has clearly been recently modernised to a nice standard. The room was very clean, a comfy king size bed (book a king not a standard room), nice and quiet. En suite bathroom had not been modernised but was perfectly acceptable. The restaurant for dinner...

I received a warm and friendly welcome when I arrived at Lucas House. My room on the 2nd floor next to the stairwell was quiet and adequately equipped. The decor and fittings were dated but the shower was hot and the bed was comfy. The towels was thick and fluffy and the bedding was soft. There was shower gel and...
