This was our second stay at this hotel and we had high expectations but left rather disappointed. Initially, small things frustrated us, the broken crushed ice machine meant that half of the cocktails on the menu were unavailable. The red wine and lemonade in our mini bar were open and half finished (mini bar clearly not replenished after previous occupants)....

Most disappointing meal I've had in Birmingham for years. Staff are arrogant and unhelpful. We were made to wait for over 45 minutes for our starter and my onion soup was more like a burnt stu! When our mains came out (30 min after the starters were cleared) one of the mains was wrong. We were then told that it...

We are slowly working our way through staying at Hotel du Vin's and are latest one was Birmingham which is not the most lavish or cleanest of the hotels. However, the Bistro was wonderful and some of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal accompanied by very nice wine. The reception staff could not...

Great welcome , friendly and useful. Notes plans and when we wanted a taxi remembered where we were going. Nice room lovely robes and bathroom shower excellent. Very clean and beds great. Shame the little things like only one sugar for tea let them down. Wonderful to have a small bottle of milk in the fridge so few places do...

Service was terrible. Waited 40 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take our drinks order. Arrived at 8.15pm and got our starters after 10pm. Then had to ask for most things twice. Food and wine vastly overpriced. Will never return to restaurant. Hotel and restaurant really need to buck up their ideas as this sort of service is completely...

Can't rate this restaurant highly enough. Had a fantastic meal there recently. The food was superb, the building itself is nothing less than stunning, and the Jewel in the crown are the staff. The manager Lisa is a delight. Made us feel welcome, highly knowledgable about what wine to select with your meal, charming and attentive. If you're a resident...

Stayed on a Saturday evening, had visited before to eat but first stay. When booking was offered valet parking at £20, however, when arrived found the NCP car park is only 100 yards away and is only £11 for 24 hours, so worth parking yourself. I stayed in a double standard room, bed big and very comfy and had a...

Stayed for 1 night with a friend in the Moet & Chandon room. Room was rather dingy with just 1 spotlight high above the bed (not ideal for doing make up) - light in the bathroom was much better. Super comfy beds, couldn't fault them. The noise however outside in the middle of the night was atrocious! The windows are...

This is a lovely hotel with a boutique feel to it. The rooms are all unique and very cosy. The food in the Bistro is delicious and the wine selection is excellent. A thoroughly enjoyed stay and will definitely return when we're next in the area!

Another amazing stay at a Hotel Du Vin. (That's Brighton and Birmingham now) Was a lovely hotel, with a quaint and cosy feel to it. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was exceptional! Only a 10 min walk to the bullring, perfect location.
