A big thank you to Tony Elvin General Manager, hotel staff and Master Sommelier Nigel Wilkinson for hosting this wonderful event. Exceptional wines from the Rhone Valley. Excellent food and great company made for a fabulous evening. An amazing birthday treat.

Dear Marie Thank you for such a lovely review of our Wine Dinner. I will make sure Nigel Wilkinson and my team see your kind comments. Without such supportive and enthusiastic guests, these events wouldn't be half as much fun so thank you for your contribution to a special evening. We look forward to seeing you at another Wine Dinner...

Stayed here for one night when seeing Dara o Brian at the hippodrome. Great location, walk from new street station. Loved the building and friendly welcome. Friday night rate via booking.com of £89 and fantastic value for the surroundings and room quality. We would definitely stay again when in Birmingham.

Took my mother there for her first visit in Birmingham, after 6 months away from each other and what a great first impression ! They made us feel so welcomed and special. The service was delightful, and the staff discreetly attentive. Special thanks to Nico who served our wine and was an amazing host, and well done to Romaric for...

My daughter booked a table at the Bistro for my birthday. Firstly let me cover the good points. We had the set menu which was 3 courses and a glass of wine for £19.99. Couldnt fault the food or the wine and it was superb value for money. The first complaint comes with the website for the bistro. It is...

Dear BlueAurorA, thank you taking the time to share your experience with the TripAdvisor community. I'm so pleased to hear that you had a great stay overall but of course must apologise for the confusion over the drinks your daughter had thoughtfully pre-paid earlier in the afternoon. To find our menus online next time, please just navigate to the Bistro...

Had quick meal at 7pm on a Friday evening; service, food and wine quite exceptional. We have eaten here before and will certainly do so again. We had a special menu option; CHATEAUBRIAND & A BOTTLE OF MERLOT, in our opinion a superb offer with the experience enhanced by warm, welcoming and discreetly attentive staff; thank you

Dear Phil Thank you for choosing to dine at HdV and then leaving such a great review. I have to say I agree with your comments about the Chateaubriand and Merlot deal, a lovely cut of steak to share with a very good bottle of Bordeaux from our friends at Chateau Bauduc. We look forward to welcoming you back for...

Well located just off Birmingham's new centre (lovely new development at Grand Central/New Street Station, Hotel du Vin is my hotel of choice in Birmingham, along with Malmaison. HdV is the complete package with lovely rooms, comfortable and well equipped, a pleasant well stocked Bubble Bar (not serving bubbles!) and one of the best restaurants around. Rooms named after wines...

We booked this about a week in advance for a Saturday afternoon. On arrival we were shown to the conservatory area where our table was waiting. During summer, I have no doubt it is very pleasant but in winter it was very cold. Patio heaters were available but these were not on when we arrived and we had to request...

Great location - right in the centre of birmingham and close to the town centre but far enough away that it is not too noisy. Giant comfy sleigh beds and lovely big bathroom, had a great night's sleep. Rooms were a bit dark but not unbearable. Room names rather than numbers could cause confusion for some guests. Biggest issue: do...

Dear Jem Thank you for your balanced review. Despite enjoying the hotel overall, I'm so sorry that we let you down at breakfast last week but I can assure you that this issue has now been resolved. One of the few venues where we weren't restricted to the Christmas Menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal except one who had misread the menu and hadn't realised the Rabbit was a pasta dish. The Fillet steaks were very good and my colleagues raved about the Pork and the Turkey meals. Bit of a mix up with 2 of the starters...

We love Hotel du Vin. This one's location is in the middle of the city which is handy but also makes it quite noisy. The beds are comfortable, the bath is deep and pretty long, the rain shower is divine. However, there was dust around the back of the bath and cobwebs on the bathroom wall. The food is good...
