We have just had the worst possible meal and dining experience at this appallingly overpriced bistro. It was supposed to be a special occasion for our daughters birthday, we had emailed ahead and asked for a candle to be added to dessert. the Maitre D' knew this as she mentioned this on our arrival but the night turned out to...

I've stayed numerous times in this great hotel but with works going on which meant bizarre noises all night to pipework etc and a terrible dingy room with undoubtedly worst bed I've slept in similar star hotel.....bed is too small as I'm 6ft and pillows were simply the worst I've ever seen. The staff as always are great in all...

Stayed for 1 night at Hotel Du Vin over the valentines weekend and have a fabulous time. The hotel is very central + walking distance to lots of great bars. The hotel + the bedroom was beautiful, we had a deluxe double and it was lovely. Massive bed, crisps, fresh white sheets + one of the nicest beds I've ever...

Stayed her for a night for a big birthday for a family member. 12 of us in total and had our meal in one of the private dining rooms. Having stayed in many a Du Vin was a little disappointed. We started out in the bar where the drinks and service started off fantastic! Moved in the dining room where...

Hotel du Vin in Birmingham is located in a landmark Victorian building which was once an eye hospital, built in 1884. It's the perfect place to base yourself when visiting Birmingham as it's centrally located. The hotel itself is lovely, with a good variety of room sizes and prices, a restaurant (Bistro), a bar just off the lobby, and a...

Started off well, female maitre'd was really attentive and considerate. Didn't think I would have had to ask for a cocktail menu though. Pre drinks, starters was all great, our mains weren't of an expected Hotel Du Vin standard, my partners Pork was a little on the tough side (and not tenderly slow cooked) and whilst the Kidneys sounded amazing...

A fabulous meal and service marred by a hotel policy. The food and service were fabulous, the setting delightful . I looked forward to expressing my personal thanks to the waitress and handing her a good tip . I was brought the bill to which 15% had already been added and I commented that was unusual - was then asked...

Four stars for food, two stars for service at today's Sunday brunch. The manager suggested that there were too few staff as some people had called in sick, but there were at least 6 serving staff In a fairly small space. It just seemed that they were all a little bit directionless. We waited 20 mins for drinks ( chasing...

We were seated at 8.45pm and we ordered drinks and starters around 9pm which came out reasonably quickly. Once these had been eaten we then ordered our main meals - these took a long time to come out so most of the party didn't eat till after 10pm! When they did come out they brought lamb instead of pork for...
