Having stayed in a couple of other hotel du vin I was looking forward to our stay but have to say it's not nearly as good as the others, The hotel is very dimly lit, I had to press my clothes just outside the bathroom with the bathroom door open to enable me to see, with dim lighting and very...

We had booked a table for 6 people at 7pm and selected the Fixed price menu - 2 courses for £17.95. When we arrived, we were given the a la carte menu and told that the fixed price was not served after 7pm. We explained we had been allowed to book online and the correct menus eventually arrived. We ordered,...

I stayed here for three nights checking out this morning! The good stuff - My standard room was nice, in decent condition, clean and comfy. Brilliant pillows, nice quilt comfy bed. The staff are lovely, they work hard to deliver a good customer service. I liked the sauna, steam room and the "drench" - a torturous ice cold shower which...

I really wanted to enjoy my lunch. I'd had a fabulous spa treatment in the Health du Vin and was hoping to finish the experience with a delicious lunch. The bistro/ restaurant was nearly empty, just 3 couples- the other two clearly work colleagues. The fixed price menu looked promising. £17 for 2 courses. I ordered butternut squash soup with...

Just had lunch in a private room for 15 people. Food- average at best. Waiting staff- badly trained and insolent. Décor - tired. Cleanliness in toilets- average to poor. All drinks ( prosecco, wine etc) taken off the bill when explained - politely. Someone in management needs to do a blind tasting to experience the huge lowering of standards since...

Okay but I rearranged the furniture as no desk light. In fact very poorly lit room could not see the socket for the plug of the kettle as so dark. The room smelt must due the damp bathroom. The bathroom was damp as the sealant around the bath leaked and water from the shower linked down the sides. Wall paper...

We visited for a friends baby shower. The room is lovely and we had a warm welcome. We followed the advice of our server to have cold drinks with the savoury course and tea with the sweet course. We were happy to have a break between courses but after around an hour we were starting to feel hungry. The staff...

My partner and I have stayed here often, we have always had beautiful suites. The bathrooms are amazing, high ceilings, large bath tub and separate shower. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Breakfast is lovely and the staff are nice. Nothing is too much for them.

Having eulogised about the Sunday brunch recently, we returned with discerning friends for an evening meal on Wednesday evening. Surely it couldn't match the brunch? Oh yes it can! Once again the Bistro scored on all counts, the setting, the decor the service the food and the wine all top marks. It's years since I had a Crepe Suzette cooked...

We called in to have a drink or two before moving to somewhere else. The bar staff were excellent we had a glass of champagne each which was poured correctly in a lovely champagne flute. I then had a couple Hendricks gins I was asked if I would like lime or cucumber and it was served with a very nice...

Dear Sue Thank you for your kind review. I'm so pleased you hear you enjoyed our Hotel du Vin bar experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for more Champagne and Hendricks! Next time, try the Monkey 47 gin with Fever Tree tonic, Lime and Strawberries. It's a wonderful gin from the Black Forest in Germany . . one...
