This was the best priced hotel in the area and, for £85, I was very disappointed. First off, the windows overlook the main Bristol Road, now that isn't the issue. The real issue is that the main (bay) window is on the same level as the top deck of double decker bus so, all and sundry can look into the room. I think that net curtains would be very beneficial in this case.
The next thing I take issue with is the dirty windows, I realise that the pub/hotel is on a main road so, dirt can accumulate quickly but, the windows look as if they've not been cleaned in a long, long time. If there was much more dirt, it would prevent the passengers on the double decker buses from being able to look in.
For £85 for one night, I'd expect a choice of normal/ full fat coffee or, decaffeinated. I did ask for some at the bar and for some REAL milk instead of the little UHT pots, only to be told that they don't carry them in stock.
The biggest issue that I found that the shower was only fit for use by someone the height of a Hobbit. I'm 6 foot 2 tall and the shower was nowhere near that height.
I was in room 5 and did sleep well but, the traffic outside didn't subside until well after midnight. I feel that if they're unable to install double glazing (as I assume the building is listed), perhaps consider secondary glazing.
Whilst it was a pleasant stay, I feel that it was definitely not worth £85, £60 at most. Booked through the Agoda site.

We literally needed somewhere to lay our heads when we popped over to the Birmingham Christmas Markets. This "hotel" is more like a B&B over a pub, but its clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. €120 for one night with breakfast included (for two). Breakfast is quite poor with just toast, cheese, small croissants and tea/coffee included, but it fills a gap. I got a great sleep but my daughter felt that the noise from the road was too distracting. It did the job for somewhere to stay for one night but I wouldn't recommend it for longer.

Stayed here for 2 nights on 12th April as we we're sightseeing and had vouchers for the Bear Grylls Adventure. Was greeted by the bartender, she explained about everything in a very professional manner and left us to it. The hotel part of the property had a seperate entrance to the pub bit which was good if we wanted to return late. Stairs up to the rooms are quite steep but manageable. Our room was Room 2, extremely small double bedroom with en suite. Not alot room but it was completely fine as we only needed the room to sleep and get changed, so this wasn't an issue. Windows are dated which meant they didn't open or close with ease (which was explained). Was very very warm most of the time in the room, and we didn't even have the heating on, but again, this isn't a bad thing. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy, bed was comfy and did the job! Location wise... PERFECT! Close to all the hussle and bussle of Birmingham but not too close. The road outside the property was busy and was quite noisy at times, but this was known upon booking. Overall, a fab, decent stay!

Avoid at all costs! Awful place doors being slammed all night and day people fighting outside and inside running up and down the stairs at silly time in the early hours. Fire alarm going off several times from 3am it was still going off when I left at 8am with the manager swearing at the alarm. No breakfast given when spoke to the manager at 6am he was drunk swaying from side to side slurring his words and when I asked where I can get breakfast from as I'm diabetic and already done my insulin he laughed and asked if I wanted a coffee so it was a race to find a place to eat. Rooms are extremely small bed are uncomfortable no where to hang clothes shower takes ages to warm up Probably Would of been better staying in an hostel!

Here on a business trip and just need a basic overnight. Decent sized room. Clean and comfortable. Great staff. By a main road so I did hear some traffic but this is a city centre so that's to be expected and complementary earplugs were available if I'd felt I need them which I didn't. 15 mins walk from New Street station. This ticked all the boxes.
The added bonus was the utterly exquisite Indian street food restaurant which is hosted in the pub. Third best restaurant in Brum according to TA and that reputation is well justified. Absolutely phenomenal food and service.
Very happy all around!

Considering this bar/hotel is slap bang in the city centre next to 02 , gay village and Chinatown the range of drinks on the bar is very poor . Also … after I was served, someone tried to order a cocktail and the bar person said they don’t do them . Every person who came to the bar for service was told to wait . I mean , no apology , just a rather laissez faire attitude to customer service ! I can’t recommend the bar offering and if I was a hotel guest, would be unhappy being made to hang on the bar for ages waiting for my room !

NOISY STREET!! Lots of sirenes road to the hospital (While I requested a silent room) Definitely not worth the 70,- euro's I paid per night.
Stale smelling room and blankets smell of smoke Unstable wifi connection in the first room The staff is trying to mask the smell in the building with incense Dirty filthy carpet everywhere
Friendly and helpful staff
Moved to another (more silent) room with a desk like I booked. (Lost a day because of a sleepless night) That room was quite filthy too.
Leaky shower so a constant wet floor and need to mop and dry the mat... The quality of the sanitary services is cheap. Everything falls apart. Shelves that can't hold a cup etc...

We stayed at the above hotel and sports bar during the August 2022 heat wave. Just after the commonwealth games had finished. We were out into a room on the 3rd floor. Small room but enough. I informed the staff that i have cancer and my wife has mobility issues. And climbing the stairs was very difficult for us. They bent over backwards to get us moved to a ground floor room, moving other guests not with health issues, to other room. The housekeeping staff were brilliant aswell. At the back of the pub is an Indian Restaurant. The food is superb. The staff at the hotel were absolutely brilliant. I must give a special thankyou to both Ruby and Hayden for giving this "braided white man" a very lovely stay. The hotel is right across the street from 02 Academy. It is a brilliant location to Chinese Quarter and only 5 min walk to Bullring. Great place to stay, prices very good aswell. We will be back.

Great hotel! Unpretentious, friendly, clean and a great atmosphere. Even though lots of sports were being shown on the screens, the volume was fine and we were perfectly able to chat. Music played earlier, a bit of Elton, Winehouse and Coldplay- right up my street! And again not blaring or intrusive. 10% of drinks if you're staying there. We had a family room which was spotless and spacious. The road is noisy...not much they can do about that, so take earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Really handy for O2, BCEC and New Street Station. Great value. We'll be back!
