Hotel reception area lovely, staff friendly. Booked a club room, thought it would be similar to the one previous hotels but was disappointed. Pictures showed a room with frills cushions etc but nothing luxury about it. Comfy bed terrible for car parking.

2 night nightmare stay the hotel is tired in general and staff hospitality a bit weak in areas .. to start with there was a horrible smell of fish in our room the beds stank of it . Asked for fresh sheets but this did not help . Staff blamed it on the restaurant underneath ! It was definitely the...

We stayed overnight 15/16 April. The hotel is looking a little tired now but you can't expect them to spend money on it as they are building a Copthorne hotel in the next 18 months. The staff a service is very good. The food in the restaurant was very good In quality but price. Our room was clean and fresh

The location of this hotel in the very centre of Birmingham is really good. However there is a lot of construction right next to the hotel which means the "view" is literally of a noisy construction site while this continues. Inside the hotel itself there are shockingly poor conditions for guests. Please see our photos. We experienced worn and tatty...

This hotel wasn't what I expected when I saw that it was described as "4*". The outside of the hotel is not at all appealing and I couldn't tell that it actually was a hotel. Building works all over the place which didn't make for a good view. The room is very dated as other people have said although the...

The Copthorne is currently in the middle of a massive building site, so slightly lacks kerb appeal. The hotel is very clearly signposted from the main road, which is also undergoing lots of work. Don't miss the turning, or you may have a long journey round! The car park is a lottery. With only around 20 spaces and some of...

We stayed here for four nights while attending a conference the other side of centenary square. A few of the recent reviews are quite negative, however we had an excellent stay, especially considering the price. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and whilst the decor is dated, the room was clean and well stocked! We had room service a few times,...

Chose this hotel because it has car park, on arrival the car park was full. The room was dingy and worn, although the bed was very comfortable. I was woken at 1.30 in the morning by very noisy people in the corridor, they then seemed to be in the room next to me and seemed to be having a party...

The Copthorne is going to be new and improved, as a new one is being built as part of the huge renovations in the lower Broad St area. In the meantime, the existing Copthorne still remains a steadfast comfortable hotel for central Birmingham. It's a little tired, but the service and food remains good and prices are reasonable. It's central,...
