We decided to hold our friend's wake at The Plough and Harrow as we had fond memories of dinners there years ago. They did not disappoint. The public rooms were sumptuous and the Dining Room laid out perfectly. The staff were all charming and could not have been more friendly and helpful. The buffet food we ordered was delicious and...

Had a quick overnight stay, arriving late and leaving early, which is probably best here, as you definitely wouldn't want to linger. Plus points: pretty front building, cheap price, free parking However, the rooms are very dated, and in poor condition. With some investment and care, this place could be quite good, however, it currently isn't.

...that's what my husband dubbed this hotel when he stayed there for work purposes on Wednesday. The room he stayed in was 'tired' to say the least - see images attached. When I asked him if breakfast was okay he said 'it would have been if it was there'. When he opened the lid to get bacon and sausages there...

Had a lovely day celebrating the wedding of two friends. The whole day was seamless and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Came down for breakfast in the morning very tired and Paulette & Rose could not have been a better start to the day. So accommodating, friendly and just genuinely lovely people.

Great night with some fantastic actors who kept in character throughout the event. Enjoyable three course meal - plenty of good quality food. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Stayed over in a comfortable room.

Firstly I must say I'm usually a great fan of the P&H. I got married there in 2012, been to numerous functions and afternoon teas too. Great offers. Today my hubby booked us up for the 2 for 1 offer for their "Seasonal Afternoon tea". I usually have their "traditional" one. When we arrived, all very pleasant as usual, spotless...

Afternoon tea was nice. Polite friendly staff. Reasonable - but only as we had a two-for-one deal. The only thing that lets this beautifully decorated place down are the toilets - the Ladies room stinks of stale urine and the decor need updating completely - was very surprised.

I stayed here for one night with my girlfriend and the rooms are excellent, clean, amazing beds and great bathroom. DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK!! In fact I would say avoid the dinner here and go elsewhere, breakfast was fine. Would I stay again? yes!

We had a room in the main building. The bedroom was tired, paper coming off the wall but apart from a loose tap the bathroom was nice and brand new. Very thin walls. Sadly overnight our car got broken into and there is no CCTV
