The most positive thing I can think of to write about this hotel is its location near the rail station and the Bullring. The room was small and the mattress on the bed was thin. As I sat on the bed I could feel the firm base of the divan under the mattress. There was a small amount of mould in the bathroom, which had no heater and the bath towels were small. The website states 'continental breakfast;. The website lies! We went down expect some sort of breakfast only to be told that they did not do breakfast. How can you have a hotel that doesn't offer breakfast? On a cold winter's morning we had to return to our room to get our coats and then go out and hunt for somewhere to eat. The hotel has a kitchen on the lower ground floor, so there's no excuse for such poor service.

Having been to London on the weekend of Storm Cost a we were unable to get out return train to Liverpool but one went to Birmingham which took us one step closer to home,so we had to f find a reasonably priced hotel for the night and the Comfort Inn did just the job. It is a budget hotel but it was clean and adequate for our needs. The staff were pleasant on check in and the triple room was good with plenty of tea and coffee. Only one down side is the early morning deliveries and the lack of double glazing in the hotel . Altogether this could be a little gem for tired travellers if there was double glazing!!

The location of this hotel is less than 5 mins from both the Bullring and New Street station.
Check in was very good staff were helpful throughout my stay.
The room was very clean and well stocked with coffee/tea.
My only issues with the room that I could find was that the TV did not work on any channels, bathroom was very clean but the shower head never stayed in one place it was only held by a single screw, lighting in bathroom was a very weak motion sensor light this turned off after only 10 seconds.

Absolutely disgusting room I was in ,I booked 2 nights and left after one, I bit my lip and just got thru the first night , I’ve stayed in better conditions in Afghanistan.

The bed just had the quilt threw on it , it wasn’t made , I pulled the quilt back it had women’s hair in the bed ,the bed had not been changed it was from the last person

I went to get a shower it was full of hair in the bottom.

The sink had old toothpaste In the bowl off the person Spit who’d been in there before .

The carpet hadn’t been hoovered in months

I closed the curtains and they was full of dust

And to top it off I got up late at night , and got the spare pillow off the shelf which was in a bag , opened it and got pillow out it was full of sick , yes dry sick .

I left the hotel after showing the man at front desk the state of the room , he offered me another room which I refused

I rang the manager the next day to see if I could get a refund , never spoke to a more rude person , just saying it is what it is your not getting a refund , and he was saying he wasn’t bothered before putting the phone down on me

I strongly advise do not go this hotel , I’ve stayed in some bad ones over the country but this was by the worst

I would give it a zero star if it would let me

Shocks me the hotel is still open

We booked two double rooms at the Comfort for a group of 4 of us under one name (my friend’s name). When we arrived at the Comfort, the girl who originally booked the hotel checked in a few hours early and stated that there would be another two people coming to check in to a room under her name. The man at the front desk said that would be fine and she and our other friend went up to their room to get ready. Me and my friend later arrived to check in to the room under her name and the man at the front desk instantly began to shout at us and tell us we couldn’t stay at the hotel because we weren’t the girl who had booked. We tried to explain that it was just under her name but he continued to shout and within about 30 seconds, he gathered 3 large men from the pub to kick us out of the hotel. Bear in mind I’m a small girl and my friend isn’t exactly a big guy. They got in our faces as I tried to explain the situation and they shouted at us. The man at the front desk threw my portable charger onto the floor and continued to shout at us. When it had calmed down, I went back in and requested our money back as we clearly wouldn’t be staying at the hotel. He refused to give us any money back for the room and there was almost nothing we could do. The hotel might be nice, I never got to see it properly but I wouldn’t stay here out of principal.

The location of this hotel is great, close to the shopping centre, restaurants and train station. The room I stayed in was gross. Mildew on the windows, broken plug socket, staining on the inside of the door, I actually found bogies on the wall, the base of the bed was ripped and was visibly old and worn. The lift is very small, loud, and was a little unnerving to use!

There was an air conditioning fan on the roof of the adjoining building which was noisy all night and was disturbing.

This was the first and only time that I’ve ever complained to management while staying at a hotel. I did receive a partial refund of my £73 one night stay, which was appreciated, but I honestly do not know how someone has ‘never complained before’ when it was a state.

I did go in other rooms that my friends were staying in, and those were very nice and visibly clean. Maybe I just unlucky.. but I would never stay again.

My daughter and i stayed at this charming hotel last night. The staff on reception were very polite and attentive, even ordering a taxi for us that evening. The room we stayed in was a lovely double with bathroom and the bathroom was immaculate. The room was freshly cleaned and bed linen spotless and the bed was so comfortable. While outside the hotel it was noisy with traffic, we didnt hear a sound from it inside and had the best night’s sleep. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family. The location was ideal just around the corner from New street station so all round a perfect location and stay.

Please find other accommodation options if you could.

I have booked this hotel prior to reading the reviews and the best thing about it is its' proximity to the city centre and the railway station.

The guy at the reception was extremely helpful when I needed to contact him twice between 2.00 and 3.30 am to help me deal with some noise disruption coming from the room above and the drunk guests who were playing loud music, holding conversations in a loud voice and singing.

The hotel itself looks a bit outdated and the rooms are not the cleanest: stains on the curtains, the carpets.

No electricity sockets by the beds; the pillows are thin and uncomfy.

Not a nice experience by far.

People who moan that this hotel is basic need to get real: it is clean and comfortable. Yes basic, but my single room was all I needed ( bed and shower and cup of tea). The bed was comfy ( maybe pillow a bit thin) and shower hot. I’ve had far less good showers in pricier fancier places. The place is super convenient and cheap for heavens sake. You get more than you pay for it’s great value and a bit quirky. If you want a chain, fine. If you want a great value convenient bed for the night come here
