stayed for three nights room clean but very hot air con not working so we changed rooms which was no better, They did provide a fan but room remained on the hot side. Apparently air con cannot be turned below 18 degrees. House keeping a bit hit and miss as not everything was topped up each day and had to request missing items. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great a very good selection and plentiful coffee. `overall the hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade and air con sorting out. It was the staff who made our stay pleasant.

We are a family of four with a 12 year old and 9 year old and spent two nights at the Birmingham Crowne Plaza over the August Bank Holiday weekend. First impressions of the property were not great, as it’s very difficult property to access, compounded by a very tricky parking situation. The hotel has approximately 50 approved spaces in an underground car park which obviously fill up very quickly, this meant we had to park outside the hotel at the risk of incurring a parking ticket. Thankfully the hotel receptionist kept an eye on our car and we managed to check in, drop our bags off and head back out. The rooms are on the small side, and our air conditioning did not work, although it should be said the hotel did provide a fan very promptly and did offer to swap our room the next day. Overall the decor is a bit tired, with stained furnishings and a bit of functional feel to it. The same goes for the public areas. The hotel was extremely busy which became very noticeable at breakfast. Breakfast had a frenetic and rushed feeling to it. To compound matters the breakfast dining area is very small, and everybody ends up in very close proximity to each other, the whole ambiance was not particularly relaxing or enjoyable. The breakfast was varied but of a low quality. We booked the hotel on the basis that it had won a Travellers Choice award - although it wasn’t clear to us on what basis it had won this award. To conclude, the only redeeming feature of our stay were the staff, all of whom were professional and helpful. It’s not a property we will be visiting again and were it not for the staff, we would have rated this hotel as poor.

This was a super scary experience for us. A few young girls, harrassed by 3 men not having the other guests names on a "list" in the middle of the night, having checked in earlier that day. Intimidating and staff followed us into the revolving doors and escorted us to reception. This was followed by a horrible experience with front of house staff who failed to understand company bookings and was willing to throw a single girl out on to the street at 3am unless a £35 charge was paid despite checking in earlier that day with no issues. Will not be using this hotel again and would not recommend for groups of girls.

After going round and around trying to find a way in due to all the roadworks which meant diversions we eventually checked in. A good welcome and clean room. We only had one night and therefore one breakfast but I have to give a huge shout out to Sharon on breakfast. She was so efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. How she keeps her cool with the amount of rude Customers she was dealing with this morning I will never know. She is a real credit to your hotel.

Staff very friendly and check in easy. As a spire elite member I got an upgrade to a club room. Comfortable and a little larger room. Great Bed and well appointed room. Shame club lounge is shut. Parking onsite with good access. £21 is not too bad in the city centre. Nice bar area and a large restaurant
