This was my first time trying to use a hostel alone, and I booked it kind of fast one day while I had some time spare. As it turns out, I showed up on the day and they wouldn't let me check in because I didn't have photo ID. Fair enough I had missed this information on the

Thank you for your honest review. Next time if you head to reception with your issues they will try their best to move you to meet your needs, such as a thicker mattress. Also, reception can accommodate your needs if other guests are not being respectful or overly noisy. We do offer a free basic continental breakfast with cereals, toast, fruit juice and hot drinks, but we would be more than happy to hear any recommendations! Thank you again for your review, we hope to see you again soon.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of Hatters Birmingham. I’m sorry to hear you felt victimised by our Housekeeping Manager and other staff, this most definitely is not how we want guests to feel especially on arrival. I am sorry our free breakfast did not meet your expectations. With regards to the incident involving cannabis, I personally came to speak with you, it was very clear that there was a cannabis smell in your room and you even showed me a pre rolled joint, that you said would only be smoked off the premises, however just having it on the premises means we are more than within our rights to ask you to leave the hostel under such circumstances.
