Had a great stay here. Location is perfect for getting around town on foot. Room was spacious and full of added extras like a sherry nightcap and a nespresso machine for your morning coffee. Recommended.

We were a group of six friends visiting for the weekend. Unfortunately for us we only stayed one night at the superb hotel within walking distance of the attractions!! We arrived a lot earlier than 'official' check in time but that was no problem for the staff. They looked after our bags and let us know by phone once our...

We stayed for 1 night at The Townhouse and had the most relaxing and pleasant stay. The room (room 3) was simply luxurious, a roll top bath in the room, separate bathroom with shower, king size bed, coffee machine, bottled water and milk in the fridge and even a jar of Port with homemade shortbread! We ate in the restaurant...

We only stayed one night, on our way up to Yorkshire. The Townhouse is in a great location, near the shops, river and theatre, the room was clean, stylish and perfect for us, with coffee/tea making facilities and a complimentary glass of port each! Although we didn't have an evening meal there, the restaurant looked excellent...the breakfast certainly was! Staff...

This hotel is much more upmarket and stylish than the many Stratford and nearby hotels I've regularly stayed at. Someone took such care - and really enjoyed themselves, I guess - choosing how to decorate the hotel and individual rooms: masses of thoughtful extras, all well chosen, nothing fussy. My room (3) was a sensational space: exposed beams of Shakespeare's...

Hotel has recently been done over and is delightful. Room as lovely, beds very comfy. Shower in the bathroom is roomy, bright and clean. all rooms have coffee and tea and a little flask of port - and the best shortbread in the world! Although I did not eat dinner in the dining room, it is bright and airy and the...

I stayed here last night, the room was perfect, the bed out of this world! Plus I managed to eat in the restaurant and chose the monkfish which was delicious. Could not fault a thing. The flavours were delicate and the chef nailed it

We visited this restaurant last night for my Dad's 60th Birthday celebrations. The service was good, however when I'd originally booked they'd said we could have the large table in the window, this wasn't the case - none the less we were in a quiet area which was lovely! The food was nice, as stated, the soufflé was fantastic. I...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This recently refurbished boutique hotel is housed in a 400 year old listed building in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. Located opposite Shakespeare's school, among the ancient half-timbered buildings the town is famous for and only 2 minute's walk to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. This is THE place for a pre-theatre supper - local pianists play at 5.30pm daily and the atmosphere is great. The 12 funky en-suite bedrooms vary in size, cost and view. Try for a room at the front of the building for the perfect view. Great food is served all day, through till 10pm in this buzzy neighbourhood bistro with Afternoon Tea a particular favorite. Champagne Happy Hour is every Friday at 5pm and the bar is packed with a great, upmarket local crowd. The staff make the place and nothing is too much trouble. ... more   less
