Stopped by for lunch whilst visiting the town after finding this spot away from the thronging crowds. Plenty choice on both light bite and lunch menus (even for vegetarians), staff were attentive and friendly. The service was great and the food was tasty.
Excellent location, fantastic hotel and amazing staff, especially Dan the Manager, Lisa, Nicoletta and Henry. The food was excellent! Great bar to relax in at the end of a day’s sightseeing. The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again and will highly recommend to anyone going on a break to Stratford. Thanks for everything, guys! We have just returned for a one night stay celebrating our wedding anniversary. This hotel is a lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable. My only issue would perhaps be that it’s a little bit noisy in the mornings with bin lorries. However this would not stop me booking again. Little perks were the good quality tea, coffee and toiletries provided and super comfy beds. We ate here in the evening and had a nice meal however it was a little disappointing to be told when we sat down that they had run out of quite a lot of things limiting the choice somewhat. However the food we had was nice. Another thing to note was that for most of the meal we were the only ones eating. No fault of the hotels, I think maybe a way of the world right now. Such a shame. Breakfast was again, nice. I would perhaps be disappointed walking in off the street and paying £9.95 but included in the price of the room it was fine. Again disappointing to be told no avocado or baked beans (which a simple trip to Tesco express could have sorted out). Staff were friendly and we would return.…
We had booked for 2 nights but after the first night and having tested, we discovered that I had covid. The staff were very understanding and would only take payment for 1 night, which they were not obliged to do. Very comfortable hotel in excellent location Our room at the back was only marred by being woken at 6am by the bins being emptied… ask for a room at the front of the hotel. Will return and complete our trip
We stayed at this location for one night. Totally blown away by the location. The room was spacious and really clean, there would be no faults if this one was featured on 4 in a bed. The service and food for evening meal was outstanding. I had the burger and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. The breakfast was so well presented and tasted delicious. The Manager was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel.
The manager and staff could not be more helpful and made my birthday event an absolute joy! Family and friends had a great time and all I can suggest is asking the manager to serenade you! We enjoyed it so much we stayed for breakfast and Sunday lunch and they could not have been more welcoming.
Wonderful weekend of birthday celebrations- food excellent and staff couldn’t do enough for us! The manager Dan and his team are great! Rooms comfortable and breakfast delicious - Sunday lunch was a fitting end to the celebrations! Highly recommended
We booked this due to the fab reviews and location for the RSC. I can’t believe some of the reviews really. Despite it indicating free parking, it isn’t and you need to choose a nearby public car park. On arrival, the manager or so was dismissive, although the lady was better humoured and helpful, also at breakfast. The room is a far far cry from boutique. Cleanliness could have been improved upon and overall it was passable. The late night street noise, restaurant noise and kitchen smells take getting used to and it was hard to fall asleep. The breakfast was fine and I questioned it as being included as it wasn’t specified at all and I also found a 30 pound cheaper room rate online, apparently a last minute deal! It was ok for one night but I wouldn’t necessarily want to linger.
A family weekend 'get together' to celebrate our Diamond Wedding anniversary. We couldn't have spent it at a better hotel! The hotel itself was small, very old and absolutely delightful. The beds and pillows were so comfortable; bedrooms and bathrooms excellent, with excellent toiletries. Fresh milk (always a bonus) and bottles of water in the fridge and an excellent assortment of teabags and coffee. Dinner on the Saturday evening was....where do I start. Sixteen of us assembled, having pre-booked our three course meal. Everyone received each of their three courses at the same time, the quality of the food was amazing (well done fantastic chefs) and drinks came promptly. Our delightful, private room was beautifully organised, creating a very intimate, happy atmosphere. The staff, once again, where do I start. Each and every member of staff , whatever their role, was efficient, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy. Dan Draper, the manager, was one of the most hardworking, helpful, happy managers that we have ever come across. We cannot thank all of you enough for making our time with you an excellent experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hoping to see you again.…
I booked The Townhouse as a venue to celebrate my in laws' Diamond Wedding Anniversary for 16 family members with lunch, dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. We all had a fantastic time and The Townhouse was absolutely perfect for our requirements as it was small and intimate enough with a private room for us to celebrate as a family - the rooms were all quite quirky and very well equipped with everything you could need, including a little bottle of fresh milk and 2 bottles of mineral water. Toiletries were high quality too. The food and service throughout the weekend was excellent and special mention must absolutely go to Dan Draper, the manager, who honestly could not have done any more for us to make our weekend so successful. His communication both before and during our weekend away was top notch and nothing was too much trouble. An absolute credit to this hotel. Bar and dining staff all great too. Thank you to all of you for making this a perfect weekend for my father and mother in law.…
