Lovely return stay at this welcoming and supremely comfortable hotel. Rooms lovely, beds amongst the best I’ve slept in and good and wine delicious. But the real standout is the staff: Greg, Mary and Imi are always so welcoming and brilliant at their jobs. Can’t wait to return.
Lovely stay, the room was quirky and cosy. We had a balcony which I would love to come back and use in the summer. The dinner in the hotel was very nice and the staff were great in all departments. The breakfast was lovely too. Nothing to fault here.
What a wonderful hotel... location, service and the staff were extremely professional and helpful. An extra shout our for Imogen on reception. She was simply awesome at her job, kind, knowledgeable and supportive. The lady at breakfast was a delight and definitely cheered you up with her infectious personality and accommodating service. We will be back in a few months. Thank you Leanne
From the very second we entered the hotel to check in, we knew we would have a lovely stay. A very warm welcome from Laura in reception set the trend (thank you Laura) and we both enjoyed a two night break over Christmas. The room (Umani Ronchi) was well appointed with a roll top bath in the room, we loved the way the bathroom was down a few stairs, through a separate door in the bedroom. It was our first stay in a Hotel du vin, we have frequently stayed in the Malmaison branded hotels but overall this was the best stay by far, my wife and I would stay again without any hesitation and plan to visit again in the spring
We booked the two night Christmas package. There are a couple of drop off parking spaces to bring in your luggage etc, we then parked behind the hotel (a minutes walk) which cost around £20 for 48 hours. We had a great welcome and shown to our room, we had a junior suite which was large, immaculately clean and with the typical Hotel Du Vin ambience. A few little touches too, little gifts and a card from the team. We were given the option to have room service across our stay or alternatively the choice of a drinks voucher or HDV making a donation to a local charity ( a great idea). The food was superb across the two days, as were the staff, who worked so hard and couldn’t have given us better service. The hotel is right in the centre of town with the river 5 minutes away, really easy to mooch around without a trek. We had such a great experience we plan to have another Hotel Du Vin Christmas this year - just need to decide where 😀…
