A visit just a couple of days before the implications of 3rd lockdown meant the hotel was about to close till at least March. The whole experience was naturally very strange with only 9 of the 250+ rooms occupied. Limited evening room service menu as restaurant closed. Breakfast was pre-ordered night before and delivered outside your room at requested time slot. Tasted good. Comfortable room and bed with good views across the Tyne. A little bit of noise from the Metro that runs to the side of the Hotel. Parking at the adjacent Stephenson Quarter car park at £12 for 24 hours. Park on level 10 for street access to the hotel.
I was in Newcastle for a weekend trip when my flights home had unfortunately been cancelled and I needed somewhere to stay. When I arrived at the hotel I had originally booked last minute (the Maldron) they wouldn’t let me check in due to travel restrictions which hadn’t been mentioned over the phone while booking and had left me stranded in the middle of Newcastle with nowhere to go. I found the Crowne Plaza hotel on booking.com and the reviews seemed very good so when I called and explained my circumstances they were more than happy to book me in to their hotel. I didn’t get the receptionists name but she was very helpful and professional. Check in time is usually 3pm but the lady got everything sorted for me and I was able to check in at 10am. Every member of staff in the hotel was perfect and so friendly. My room was absolutely beautiful, the bathroom had both a bath and a separate shower, and had a queen size bed. It also came with a mini fridge, kettle, tea coffee etc... an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and much more. The rooms were also very spacious and had a beautiful view. My booking was bed and breakfast so whilst checking in (due to COVID-19 at the minute it was room service only) I was given the breakfast options and what time I would like to receive my breakfast at. It came at the exact time I asked for every single morning, and was always excellent and prepared to perfection. I could not have asked for any more and out of the many hotels I’ve stayed in, it has 100% been the best and I would completely recommend it to anyone. I look forward to my next stay here.…
Modern hotel with open aspect atrium, comfortable rooms, reasonably priced and located just a few minutes from all major attractions. Friendly staff, well maintained rooms, nice bar serving huge range of gins! Restaurant ok but with a plethora of dining opportunities in the city a trip out would be highly recommended. If possible book a club room and benefit from a relatively quiete spot to relax and read with a drink and nibbles. Breakfast of usual Crowne Plaza high standard.
stayed for a business meeting during 2nd lockdown. despite low staffing the place was run perfectly, nothing was too much trouble, clean, immaculate. the food was great despite the room-service only due to lockdown.
One of the best hotels in Newcastle.the staff is very friendly and professional. The room is spacious, it has separate place for living with Tv and sofa and another TV in the bed room . The bed is comfy and wide enough . The Breakfast is fabulous even during the lock down . The hotel is in the center close to the train station and the beautiful tyne river
