8 of us stayed here last summer and it was perfect for us. Cheap, close to Newcastle and the staff were really nice. It's an ideal place to sleep, don't expect anything else really. Exactly what we needed and for a great price

When we booked this hotel on booking.com it was called the Park Gate Hotel.. turns out it wasn't called that at all. In a run down area of Newcastle you'll live in fear of being stabbed. The hotel is very nice when you walk into the reception area. However, I did not appreciate the comment that the receptionist made about... More

The room we stayed in we were to scared to leave till late because of the rude blokes that kept knocking on our door trying to come in! There was no tea or coffe in room! No kitchen, no bar! What party hotel doesnt have a bar?! Worst place ive ever stayed in do not recommend! Xx

This is a truly awful...place. I don't know what to call it because it certainly isn't a hotel and to call it a hostel insults some of the very fine hostels I have stayed in. Everything smacked of dinginess from the beds that were older than my father to the open shower in the middle of the room. It was... More

Booked this hotel through laterooms as attending concert in Newcastle. Upon arrival signs were not good with old mattresses and furniture piled up at front door and reception had broken tiles and floor was dirty. Receptionist was arrogant and very rude when queried why they were asking for payment again! I asked to use toilet while waiting and was told... More

Read awful reviews and to be honest the location isn't great and the decor is nothing to shout about but the guy on reception was a true gent really lovely helpful and hardworking. Friendly place and for £45 it was clean a small room with a bed and a tv did the job for going to watch kings of Leon... More

Me and my boyfriend stopped here on saturday. We needed a cheap hotel as we were only stopping in newcastle for one night and I am just pleased it wasn't for going out round town or anything because the atmosphere is not good! Firstly we paid £55 which is a total rip off! We asked for a on suite so... More

I would not recommend a stay at The West Park Hotel, look somewhere else! Myself and partner booked a stay with 5 others and for £45-£55 a room we were all thoroughly disappointed. Firstly the 'hotel' should not called a hotel more of a hostel! Shared toilets on each floor and not all rooms have showers which for the price... More

We came to the hotel for my friends 21st to go on a night out up Newcastle and my girlfriend had booked us here as we were on a budget. Little did we know that paying the price of £45 a night we could of been somewhere much better. We came into the hotel to be greeted by someone who... More

Me and my friend wanted to stay in this hotel for somewhere to rest our heads after a night out. We thought we got a good deal for £20 a night, however id rather pay to not ever have to go back. First impressions on arrival were awful, the free car park is none existent and is actually a council... More
