My friend and I were lucky enough to experience an afternoon tea at Malmaison in Newcastle recently. Firstly the surroundings were a delight with a view of the river then the service. Our waiters were Cal and Tirso who were both professional and friendly. The...More
Pleasant hotel - less worn than their leith counterpart. Only bone of contention is no bottled water in room other than bottles in the fridge which I was then charged for. I've never stayed at any hotel that does not provide bottled water including the...More
I stayed here recently on business. The staff in the restaurant were amazing - the waitress Charlotte was really well trained - polite, friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. The food was generous and well cooked and they took account of all my dietary requirements.

I haven’t stayed at Newcastle Upon Tyne as I live there but have regularly stayed at the Mal in Leith. The pet friendly room we use is a corner room on the first floor, dual aspect windows one with patio doors and balcony.
The room is the same spec as other rooms. Baskets and dog bowls are provided and my three dogs have always been made very welcome. I would imaging that conditions are similar across the chain.
Good walking on the Quayside at Newcastle
