Went here on my birthday/anniversary with the hubby. Got what I thought was a good deal on an afternoon tea. Such a disappointment, sandwiches ok, only 1 scone and the small selection of cake just looked like they had came out of a box from Costco. Service was fairly inattentive considering how quite it was other than business men although...

After staying in this hotel on numerous occasions I booked to return for a 1 night stay. On arrival the check in staff were friendly and as we arrived slightly earlier than the allocated check in time this was not a problem and we were given our room. All rooms do over look the River and some have Juliette balcony's....

Thank you for your constructive review, following your recent stay. The hotel is in the midst of an extensive refurbishment programme, with new beds, carpets, TV's, curtains, tub chairs, desk chairs, lamps and fridges added over the past couple of years, and more to come. The leisure club closed 15 months ago, and we have a newly refurbished mini-gym facility....

My daughter had her wedding held at the Copthorne 6 weeks ago and I'm only getting round to writing a review now! Everyone went out of their way to ensure the day was a happy and wonderful experience. We would pay thanks particularly to Suzi Lennie, the wedding co ordinator who was professional, and helpful with all aspects of the...

A three night stay on business. The positives included a great quayside location, a large first floor room with small balcony overlooking the Tyne and some of the best water pressure I have ever come across. The room was clean and well-presented and staff were helpful, professional and cheerful. Breakfast is average for a hotel of this type. The coffee...

Got a very good deal on an afternoon tea for 4 people for around £36. It was not a patch on other afternoon teas I have had recently, however this might have been anticipated by the cost. Unfortunately the cakes were not home made and the sandwiches were fairly basic fillings compared to what you get for other afternoon teas....

Tired rooms. Poor quality housekeeping (there was a vacuum cleaner left as a trip hazard outside my room all night - I informed reception in the evening but nothing was done about it) and remnants of the last guest remained in the room. Breakfast was terrible, poor ingredients and limited choices (my last stay at a Permier served a far...

Booked a room for a night. £143 for a double room inc breakfast through bookings.com. The room was overlooking the river and constant noise from the Metro rattling over the bridge makes it hard to sleep. The bathroom extractor would not turn off and made a horrible racket all night. The room and bathroom were tired and shabby and in...

Thank you for your review, in which I was most sorry to learn of your disappointing feedback. Service issues are normally unheard of here, evidenced by the huge amount of positive comments on this site on this subject. Clearly on this occasion, however, there has been an isolated issue, and this matter is being fully looked into. I'd be happy...
