We booked to go back to Capheaton Hall almost as soon as we got back home from our trip last year. We were only a party of two for most of the week but despite the grandeur of the surroundings there is an intimacy about this place that lends itself to relaxation and a sense of coziness that can be missing in less 'imposing cottages'. We visited Hexham Abbey for the first time, but we were taken with the streets surrounding the Abbey as much as with the Abbey itself. Great cafes and restaurants; the excellent Cogito Books, the Small World Cafe, the Vintage Emporium and the Bouchon Bistrot being the highlights. The highlight for me was the hour or two I spent sitting on the terrace everyday at Capeheaton Hall: sipping a beer, listening to birdsong, and watching the light and shade colour the landscape. Divine.

Lovely place to stay. Very relaxed atmosphere and is more than big enough for 8 people. The sitting room is late and the fire makes the place feel very special. The Kitchen is really nicely sized. The beds are very comfortable and the two double rooms have on suites. We had a great time here using it as a base to go out and about as there is loads to do and see in Northumberland. The owners kept themselves to themselves and we felt like it was just ours for the week. We had some nice walks down to the lake with the dogs even with all the mixed weather we had, snow, hail, rain clouds but also sun. It was very well priced for the week and loved it.

We arrived to find home made scones, jam and butter awaiting us toether with a chilled bottle of wine. A nice way to start our family get together. The location was super, peaceful with lovely views. Plenty of space to walk our dog. The hall was as expected and more. Very homely, with a log fire. The only downside was the lack of an extra built in shower, but otherwise the rooms were roomy and comfortable and it all felt welcoming. We woukld love to come back for a longer period to explore the surrounding area more. We had a trip into Morpeth on the Saturday, which was s lovely little market town.

We booked Capheaton Hall for our wedding on 11th July 2015. From the moment we first visited the venue we fell in love with the beautiful grounds and lovely scenery. The house was great inside and as a whole offered lots of photo opportunities to capture our special day. Elisa was extremely accomadating throughout the entire experience. She put us at ease from the very start, allowed us to continuously visit to help us plan and prepare and paid a genuine interest in our special day. She also offered her own list of suppliers but was flexible about us choosing our own. As a couple we feel very lucky to have found Capheaton Hall and felt the price was very reasonable. We feel Capheaton Hall is a hidden Gem and we had lots of compliments from our guests about the venue. We would strongly recommend anyone getting married to take a look at Capheaton Hall and are confident that upon viewing you would book the venue for you special day. Our overall experience of Capheaton Hall was first class, 10 out of 10 and a special thanks to Elisa.
