A business catch-up with a client, a small table on the patio. Excellent service, as is usual, and the food really good. Their chicken with basil pesto, their classic BLT and their eggs and avocado on toast all excellent. Face masks used by staff. Hand sanitising stations throughout. One way system ensuring ease of passage through the hotel's outdoor space. Well done to the management. Great and caring staff, cleary delighted to be back. Thanks to Andy, Vikki, Joanne, Luke and Adam who looked after us on the day.

Me and my mam spent the whole afternoon at the outdoor bistro this week and it really was exceptional. From the service to the food and drinks, I would recommend to anyone looking for a luxury experience just outside the hustle and bustle of the town centre nowerdays. Joanne looked after us so well, we didn’t want to leave. In fact we loved it so much on my way out I passed reception and made an overnight reservation for one of the suites in May! Can’t wait for my next visit. Thank you everyone

Such a wonderful little hotel - a really luxurious place to visit for a night away. Superb food and service and a very reasonable price for a weekend stay. Given how hectic 2020 was it was nice to get away briefly and the venue allowed us chance to visit a new city easily and also enjoy a trip up the coast to some amazing beaches in the North West. The rooms are cosy and elegant, exceptional quality linen and towels and a proper shower. We will definitely choose HDV again for a weekend city break
