Booked for one night stay for a relaxing away from the city. E-mailing with reservation team for dinner booking as well as spa treatment. All organised quickly and to satisfaction..... then all went down hill. Upon arriving, there's a construction and refurbishment all over the ground. None of this mentioned on the website or any of the correspondences. The receptionist...

Stayed here after a business trip to Petworth. The rooms are nice enough, recently updated however the lack of AC meant ours got extremely hot in the middle of the night, even in Mid May. The hotel is undergoing major renovations at the moment so it looks / feels very disjointed as certain areas are blocked off while the works...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review and comments. We do offer fans in the rooms for circulation, but due to the restraints of the historic buildings, we cannot retro fit air. We appreciate the building works are not terribly scenic, but they are nearing the end and soon we will be all set.

This hotel and spa could be perfect and it is a shame that such small, yet important things aren't up to scratch. The good - beautiful grounds, rooms and a lovely pool area in the spa with a sauna, jacuzzi and a steam room. The food in the evening was also very nice. We got a deal which included a...

Great hotel set in stunning grounds. The spa was lovely and to a high standard. I visited on a bank holiday weekend so didn't have the problem of workmen being around. The rooms were clean and the food was also good. Very accommodating staff-will be coming back.

We stayed on business for four days . We had two rooms and we ate in the restaurant every night. Rooms were large, clean, comfortable. Bed was large and comfortable. Towels were white and thick and new. Very good experience. Food and wine was reasonable in price and very good. Good Bordeaux with a cork at a very good price....

Potentially very nice hotel but a building site at present which was not advised us beforehand; our room was exceptionally noisy being right on car park, with noise going on even at 1am. No breakfast available before 8am on Bank Holiday Monday - we were told guests were notified in advance but we weren't! Exceptionally moody and grumpy male breakfast...

On the plus side the view from the restaurant was lovely and it was a very peaceful setting for afternoon tea once the hoovering in a nearby room had stopped. However they had no record of our booking when we arrived and there appeared to be some confusion over the fact that one of our party didn't eat fish. We...

We needed an overnight hotel to stay at after a wedding nearby. Many of the guests were staying at this hotel so we booked for one night. It's very nice - clean and conveniently situated for all sorts of places of interest. The decor in our room was extraordinary - all the furniture was silver! In a mock-Tudor room! The...

Dear Fiona, Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and do apologize for the paint smell. We thought it had dissipated. We would have happily moved you, but understand that it must have been late and a room move late at night is never a nice ending to an evening. We hope you will visit...

Hubby and I LOVE this place! Great rooms, food, spa, views... Service has always been good. Relaxing place to be. Never too busy but often sells out, particularly the spa treatments. Rabbits all around! It's a quiet area but easy enough to find.
