Fabulous menu varied to cater for everyone. Great attentive service. Highly recommended We plan to come again in summer and stay overnight so can enjoy outside pool. Afternoon tea also looked very good.

We stopped here whilst on a business trip. I really enjoyed the decor of the hotel, it feels really well done. The barman did struggle pouring Guinness, and could of done better organising drinks orders with a group of four. The food menu was very good however I did notice one or two of the portion sizes were a bit...

My daughter and her fiancé booked fairly late to hold their wedding reception on 18th November; both we and many of our guests stayed for a couple of nights at the hotel. From the outset welcome and service was absolutely outstanding. Especially to be commended were Lesley at reception who initially welcomed us and ensured we had everything we needed,...

Stayed for business trip. On arrival was informed by receptionist that I had a upgrade, which seemed pleasant surprise. Only to realise how small room was. There was also no heating in room, supplied a portable oil heater. At £140 per night you would expect heating at least.

Dear Deen A Many thanks for your comments, although I'm surprised as all bedrooms have heating through the radiator or through the air conditioning system. I'm pleased to see that a heater was brought to you and will investigate why this was needed. Many thanks again for your feedback. Kind regards Nicholas Bees General Manager

The bar and restaurant of this hotel have been beautifully furnished in blues, grey and silver (although slightly spoilt by a brown carpet). Both areas were very busy for Sunday lunch. Swift service by young, trained staff. Although a little bit slow during lunch. The restaurant has mostly round tables which makes dining, in numbers, more convivial. Excellent, modernly presented...

Dear madeleine_rijndorp Thank you for your kind and considered comments. I'm really pleased to see that you enjoyed your time at the hotel and I'm sorry that you were disturbed by wedding guests. The guests should not be coming in to the Restaurant at any time as the function area is fully self-contained, so I will investigate your comments and...

Interesting to read other reviews mentioning dodgy service. Come on management, do something about it. It lets your hotel down. The family have visited the hotel since WW1 and we have had many 'special' celebrations there over the decades. Happy memories bought us back for weekend family gathering (5 rooms) after 20 years. Rooms excellent, refit excellent, bar food excellent,...

Dear Alison49 Many thanks for your positive review about the food, rooms, refit and breakfast. I'm sorry that you faced an issue with communication and I shall certainly investigate this for you as I'm unaware of the specific issue. Thank you also for your comments regarding service overall. As you said, the vast majority of the team are excellent and...

We arrived late into the evening and went to the bar for our complimentary drink. Our daughters bedroom was quite cold and ours was too hot fortunately we were able to swap. The breakfast was very nice and the dining room is beautiful. There is an outdoor pool which in the summer would be a nice treat. Would certainly stay...

I recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, for business. It seems nothing has changed over the last 20-30 years (except the very good Wifi !). it is however a very british charming hotel. Service has ups and downs , depending on people on duty (it looks like many are trainees) A bit far away from everything.

I visited the Burford Bridge recently for a breakfast meeting with a business colleague - it was the first time I had been there since its lengthy refurbishment a while ago. The new look was very comfortable and the lounge area very relaxing. I arrived at about 7.15 for my meeting at 8.00 - despite sitting in a near empty...

We stayed in this hotel for two night, due to the wedding we were attending that weekend. During our stay we have actually stay in two different rooms.
